I have an NES 2, and I recently bought a Game Genie. If I jam that sucker real, REAL hard into my NES, will it work? Or better yet, can I take a knife and chip away at the sides until it fits with no problem? Please answer if you have experience of this, and I already know about the adapter. It's just out of the question.

From what I recall, it's not compatible with the NES 2 at all - even if you made it fit.
Buy a $5 toaster.

The Genie will work in an NES 2 without the adapter, but you just have to jam it in. The adapter simply extends the contact pins. There's no change in hardware with the NES 2. Also, I have a toaster, but I'm plagued by the stupid Blinking light bull crap.

Yes, actually. I used to have an image around showing it in action, but I forgot to save it to an album.

I'm not sure what you're asking. There's nothing you can do to make it fit better with a knife. It's the abnormally thick contacts that make it difficult to fit in an NES 2, not any of the plastic.
Just be warned: if you jam it in, it'll be really, really difficult to yank out. I sometimes remove the plastic case from my Game Genie so I can remove it using a tiny rod.

I mean the plastic on the Game Genie itself, but that's cool. I plan on leaving the Genie itself in the console anyway.
Just curious, is there any way to boot up a game with the Genie inserted and not type in any codes? Or do you HAVE to type in a code of some sort?

If I remember right, you simply push start without entering any codes and it will take you directly to the game,

Correct. And as others have said, the Game Genie will work in NES2 without the adapter.

The plastic doesn't obscure it in any way though. There's no need.

Yes, it does work; yes you can make it fit; and yes it will be hard to pull out. The plastic case for the Game Genie is slightly thicker than that of a NES game, so it does get stuck in the slot.

I wouldnt do it, then you can't play Castlevania 3. I don't know if you want to even play that game but i dont think that game works with Game Genie

the game genie works fine with cv3, when you first boot it up it has a grey screen but if you reset it it works fine (you can put codes in just fine on the grey screen if you know where the letters are)
off the top of my head i beleieve gagaga worked ;-)
