Hi DPers,
I recently finished modifying a large batch of Sega Genesis controllers for use with the Vectrex. I make them myself from genuine Sega controllers. Each controller is disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt by hand.
On my controllers, the internal circuit board of the Genesis controller is rewired to be compatible with the Vectrex and the plug is trimmed to fit in the Vectrex controller ports.
The button mapping is fixed at:
Start = 1
A = 2
B = 3
C = 4
Sorry, they are not programmable.
There are two original Vectrex games that don't work with this controller because they require the original analog joystick: Hyperchase (all variations) and Starhawk (game variation 2). There are also some homebrew games that require analog control and won't work with the modified controller.
I've been selling them on eBay for $49 shipped, but I will make 8 available to DP members for $35 each shipped. PM me and I will give you my PayPal address for payment. I know some of you don't like PayPal - PM me and we'll work something out.
The controller will ship in a padded envelope with a user manual.
I have sold these to several DP users including Rick Weis and Swlovinist who can vouch for me and the quality of the finished controllers. I have also sold a bunch of them on eBay and and the Portland Retro Gaming Expo.
I also make these from SNES controllers, but I don't have any right now - they have been very popular, but are slightly more difficult to build.
