On GameStops site, they are only listing games that are slated for release into June and really the bulk of releases they are mentioning are through April. I'd be checking for your 'must gets' every other month because of the general lack of mentioned games.

Stuff i'd be pre-ordering/getting day one
Golden Sun DS (??)
Dementium II (4/20)
Wario Ware D.I.Y. (3/28)
Rooms(3/23)
Infinite Space (3/16)
Pokemon SoulSilver/HeartGold (3/14)
Ragnarok (2/16)
Dawn of Heroes (2/2)
Legend of Kay (1/25)
Legend of Heracles (1/18)

Other stuff i'd be getting not too far later
Puzzle Chronicles (2/2)
KORG DS-10 Plus (2/16)
Foto Showdown DSi (2/23)
America's Test Kitchen: Cooking (3/28)
Duke Nukem: Critical Mass (5/3)

There's a couple I'm interested in that's not already listed but I don't know if they're being released in North America. They're adventure games and they're also going to be released on other platforms besides the DS.

Golden Sun is all I'm interested in unless Dragon Quest 6 gets released.

Golden Sun, DQ6, DQ9 are all must-buys this year. Maybe Pokemon Gold/Silver...I don't know. I've lost patience through all those slow battle animations the past few years.

Huh, so they are finally releasing DQ 6, about bloody time.

PS. I only hope It's a direct port(NA release of the original), not a insult like the DQ 3 remake.

I've been playing a translating rom for years now(must of beat it a dozen times already, probally more), but as long as It's true to the original(all around), I'll happily pick up the DS remake.

@Zoltor: Have you played the remakes of Dragon Quest 4 or 5 on the DS? I think that DQ6 will probably be similar in style. So, it's likely to be a remake, not a port (but if anything, it'll be as well-made as the other two).

Golden Sun DS, Dragon Quest VI, and Dragon Quest IX have all been mentioned, but the reason I'm posting is...

America's Test Kitchen: Cooking (3/28)

Seriously? I really enjoy the show, but I hadn't heard about this. It's interesting.

Nah I havn't, but I have seen alot of SS for the DQ 4 remake, and it doesn't even look like the DQ4 I know(they also supposedly made towns all 3D as well sigh).

Can you atleast control the "entire" party in ch 5(like the jp version, and unlike the original NA version)?

PS. I have a friend who has DQ5, and seems to like it, but I haven't really looked into it yet.

Yup, and a Nintendo published title to boot. I'd have thought that it was going to be part of the 'Personal Trainer' line, but there is already a Personal Trainer: Cooking out and to make a 'Cooking 2' wouldn't work well i'd guess.

Apparently, the monster capturing that was present in the SFC version of DQVI has been removed. Now, you can only capture slimes (I'm assuming for the Slime Arena), but I haven't heard whether you can actually use them in regular battles or not.

Ouch that sucks. Even though you couldn't use non slimes in the arena, it was great being able to capturing other monster, infact some of them were real good in actual gameplay(where the slimes basically were meh outside the arena).

PS. Why the hell would they "remove" content, if anything in the remake, they should've added even more captureable monsters, not remove them.

The DQ3 remake is probally the worst remake of a game, in the entire history of the industry.

DQ6 will use the same game engine as the remakes of DQ4 and DQ5 (and as such have a similar style to DQ7 on the PS1). Really, I don't have any complaints about the remakes of DQ4 and DQ5, especially when they expanded the amount of people in your active party to four in DQ5. I even played through the bonus dungeon in DQ4, which is a real treat if you are a fan of the NES game. Ultimately, the layouts of everything are pretty much the same as the originals, but with a more 3D perspective.

I haven't really looked much into the remake of DQ6, though I didn't get far enough into the SFC game to really experiment with monster capturing (I think you had to be something like 15-20 hours in to really to get to the point of monster capturing). Quite frankly, I couldn't see myself using monsters when you have a bunch of built up human characters. If they took out monster capturing, I probably wouldn't notice.

Stuff i'd be pre-ordering/getting day one
Legend of Kay (1/25)

Do you know anything about this game? The only information I could find was on the European publisher's website, which has no screenshots. All the screenshots I've seen on the internet seem to be of the PS2 game, yet it doesn't sound like a port based on the publisher's description.
