What do you think a couple of empty system boxes are worth?

I got one for a PS2 SCPH-39001/97004 and a Purple Nintendo Gamecube box

Both seem to have all the original packing materials and instruction manuals.

They have been sitting in my closet forever.

Thanks

if you figure out some kind of worth for the PS2 one, I could use a new one. parents tossed the original one.

for that matter I also need a dreamcast one!

is the box collapsable if you were to un-flap it and whatever, or is it fairly stuck in its cube form?

Sadly probally not much(if it were a NES top loader in very good condition, it would be worth like upwards of 100$).

Depending on condition, I would guess between 20-30 bucks tops for a PS2 box, and that's most likely being generous.

It's pretty much stuck in the cube form. I'd have to unseal the bottom and it doesn't look like it could be collapsed with damaging it.

I've been thinking about trying to sell some of my system boxes for awhile, but haven't figured out a good way to ship most of them. I have a Sega CD box, a Mega CD (Japanese) box, a white slim PS2 box, a PC Engine + CD box... etc etc. Since I don't really care about keeping my systems boxed, I want to get rid of them, but am not going to toss them in the trash (yet... they might be good for moving or something, or if I get a bare console I want to sell).

The only decent way I've found to ship system boxes is just to put the box inside a box. Most boxes aren't built to be collapsed, plus you'd have to find ways to collapse the cardboard inside as well.

Well i just sold a Nintendo 64 box which was pretty darn light and it cost $8.20 (with tax) to ship from Tenn to PA. They said it weighed more than 2 pounds. I don't own a potal scale to weigh it myself but that box was light. The only comparison i had (don't laugh lol) was i held a can of soup that weighed a little less than 2 pounds in one hand and the box in the other. The soup was heavier. lol. It it's 2 pounds or under it's roughly $5.70 parcel post.

or maybe you could wrap the box entirely in bubblewrap and then wrap that in brown paper (grocery bags) or something.

You would have to then cover the grocery bags in clear packing tape, otherwise there's the risk of the paper tearing and the address being unreadable. Or the address getting wet and smearing.

I've got a bunch of NES boxes I want to get rid of, but there's just not a good way to ship the things. I've had people offer me $10 for them, which is fine, until postage costs $8+, and then the Paypal fees are about seventy-five cents. I can't bring myself to throw them away, but pretty soon that's going to have to happen.

which NES boxes do you has? id be cool with you opening all the flaps, flattening at an angle, and sending that way in a cardboard envelope to be honest..

The Action Set. They've got the styrofoam, which I would assume you would want. Anyway, the boxes are in storage at my parents' a few states away, so I can't really get to them.

I would add postage at that point - the box is worth more than $10 with styro.

LOL I'm looking for NES game boxes too. Considering I only collect boxed or complete and I'm finally getting serious about my collection. XD

I've been looking for a system box for my SNES, with styro insert. Anyone have one to sell? I would need to see a photo to make sure it is the version I originally purchased.

Cheapest way to ship them is put in another slightly bigger box and stick a CD inside so it qualifies for media mail.
