Hello, I am a new user here and would like to start collecting for the PC-Engine. However I have some questions. Note: When answering questions, pleast stick to HuCard only please.

1. Which Japanese PC-Engine console models had A/V built into them? Was S-Video ever an option for the PC-Engine?

2. What were the BEST (like the top 10) Shmups for the system.

3. What is the Japanese version of Blazing Lasers called?

4. I've read that GunHed is a great shooter and expensive but I can always find it for about $30.. ??

5. What are the best platformers and unusual games for the PC-Engine? Unusual I'm talking about easy to play (for English). Pinball games, stuff like Bomberman, etc.

Any help would be appreciated!

I believe the Core Grafx II has the a/v ports. S-Video is probably a no-go unless you find some type of specially modded unit.

I would say Lords/Winds of Thunder, Gates of Thunder, Slyphia (hard to find, tho), Gunhed/Blazing Lazers, Super Star Soldier, Soldier Blade, Star Parodier, Download II, Parodius Da!, R-Type, Gradius, Salamander...lots of shmuppy action :P

You answered your own question :) Gunhed=Blazing Lazers

You cant go wrong with Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, Bomberman 93 and 94, Devil's Crush/Crash (pinball), Panic Bomberman (tetris inspired), Bonk/ PC Kid 1 + 2, Strider is fairly decent...
