Wii Mod question

A while ago I got a soft mod home brew setup via sd card so I can play japanese games. If I recall nintendo if ppeople updated the firmware the channel wouldn't work anymore.

My wife picked up wii fit plus. It errors out when trying to play via homebrew. If I upgrade the firmware is there a new homebrew out or am I out of luck. I am tempted to pick her up another one. LOL TIA

Another Wii? It would be far cheaper to just install a modchip.

Dont buy another wii or a mod chip. You need to update you soft mod. Follow some of the guides at gbatemp.net. Nintendo is always trying to come out with a new protection to stay one step ahead of the homebrew scene. You probably just need a higher revision of IOS 249. I think i use revision 14, jsut look for a good tutorial.

And presently even most mod chip users have to do workarounds (Ie soft mod there wii as well) to play the newest games.
