Hello, just asking about my copy of Star Fox 2 on the Super Nintendo. I have the cartridge, and well, its in english. I didnt think they got to translating it into english, and also, the framespeed counter has been removed that was in any other version i have seen. I like this game alot, the gameplay is great and addicting, kind of like how Star Fox 64 was. honestly, i dont care if this turns out to be a pirate cartridge because the game itself is awesome, and id recommend it to anyone who can get their hands on one.

It is so obviously one of those repro ones, no need to even see it. I can't believe the amount of people that find a cartridge and then think they have something special. The game was never officially released on cart, and that's that. :)

maybe the rom they used to make that cart had the counter hacked out of it. my two cents.

Of course it did
It's well known that Star Fox 2 has been modified to translate it, remove test functions like the counter, eliminate some bugs, etc. That's what he has on cartridge.

Don't be so rough on him, guys... I was the one who told him to post about it here.

He didn't really ask a question. He's like "Hey I got a Starfox 2 cart yay!"
So what was the question?

Grammatically, there is no question. However, he does seem to be interested in knowing whether it's normal/hacked/whatever. So that was his question, I suppose.

I think there is plenty of information on this forum, let alone the general Internet, about the unreleased nature of StarFox 2. Google is your friend!

I was having a conversation with a few friends of mine recently, asking why it was that, in spite of my obvious love for classic gaming, I couldn't seem to get along with anyone on a certain classic gaming forum I visit.
That question has been answered.

kool kool. i dont care that it isnt official. one of yall said it isnt anything special lol. To me, it kind of is. I dont care if it isnt worth a bunch of money. I already got that too (have a Star Fox: Super Weekend Competition Cart too). Star Fox 2 is worth having, and the fact that it isnt "Official" doesnt destroy the fact that the gameplay is awesome.

to me, it seems like most people think that Star Fox 2 is basicly a lower version of Star Fox 64. Everwhere one looks on the internet it lists that nintendo discontinued the Star Fox 2 project because the "ultra 64" was on the way and the star fox 64 in development looked better and incorporated elements of Star Fox 2" My opinion of this is that these games are very little alike. In star fox 2, you have to defend corneria against andross's forces and win the war. In the process you have to destroy multiple IPBM's and you often have to convert the arwing for use on the ground. You dont do any of that in Star Fox 64, in that game you roam planet to planet. Oh yeah, in Star Fox 2 you have awesome dogfights against Star Wolf members. Of course you have to also liberate the planets, however you do it as you choose. the map screen in Star Fox 2 is way more complex than Star Fox 64, and it shows you everything out there, IPBM's, enemy carrier's, all the planets (shows whether the belong to you or andross), and how much more Corneria can take. If corneria gets messed up too much, you lose. Its harder than Star Fox 64, and in my view, has more replay value. I dont care if it is pirate or whatnot. it shows the work put into this game by nintendo, and how wrong they were to not release it.

For me the game makes me wonder about the games that were in development/scrapped/etc that we don't know about yet.

I just pooped. I think it was the roast beef from last night, I just don't eat red meat that much anymore and so it was kinda watery. And oh man the stench. Maybe it was the gravy, that packet was from like... a year ago. Does powered gravy go bad?
Man that was some awful stuff. Tasted good going down but I regret it now. I really do hope it wasn't the beef, I was hoping to make sandwiches to take to work tomorrow.

Is that one box way in the back left hand corner marked "Duke Nukem Forever" circa 2003?

Do you lump large groups of people together instead of considering them as individual human beings?
Apparently that question has been answered as well.

Considering it usually costs around $100 for a repro of Star Fox 2, it's not anything to sneeze at.
