I am thinking about collecting Pong consoles actively. Does anyone here really search for them? How is collecting for them, Is it worth the time, and how many do you own? I only have one and if someone offered me one for cheap I'd probably take it. Leave your opinions.

There are so many wacky ones out there. I have a few and buy them when I see them. There are just soo many. They where even given away when you went to visit a timeshare. We got a Bently Pong (I think it was something like that) when I was a kid.

I have about 10 different pongs (not including Atari) and they are cheap for the most part. Sometimes you get a guy that just says "Pong" like it's the greatest thing and he wants to sell it for 20 bucks and doesn't realize it's a piece of crap Radio Shack pong.

I have a pong game, had it since 1976. The gun is missing. Not sure of the brand. Not sure if it still works.

I have an APF TV Fun 402 and an Odyssey 3000.
Here are some in my wish list:
Atari Pong Model C-100, Odyssey 1 and Unisonic Tournament 2000
Thanks,

I don't actively collect them, but I do have quite an assortment. I bought a guys collection one time and got about 10 of them. I have the normal ball/paddle versions, a few boxed units (various manufacturers) that inlcude guns. I have coleco combat, and atari stunt cycle. I also have homemade versions of ball pong (with a modification that includes a certain degree of randomness to the behavior), and Tank. I also have a slew of technical information.

In general I don't search them out and when I see them usually don't even ask. It's great to own a few but they take up a tremendous amount of room.

I used to collect them fairly actively, but there are just SO MANY out there, especially when you start looking overseas too. Sometimes I'm tempted to sell some of mine to make room, but I'm not sure I can do it...

Hi Russ,

You can say that again that there's too many freaking Pong systems out there. There's almost 200 cataloged (North American ones) in the new Digital Press Guide #7 (shameless plug!!! :) ) and if anyone want to collect international Pongs, well there's at least 700 of them. And i'm not counting any dedicated systems like the Coleco Combat! or the Atari Video Pinball, these are NOT consider Pong systems.

So....anyone want to collect these blasting things ? I only have 6-7 of them and i still think i have too many. But knowing about them, that's what i like (take less space too! :P ).
