Often the question has been asked- and answered- about one's favorite console: "If you were locked in a jail cell, or on a deserted island..."
But suppose you are then asked what your second choice would be? The only rule is that the console has to be from the same general era as the first choice, more or less.
Note- ANY game available for the console would be allowed, even if it wasn't made available until recently.

Mattel Intellivision. Utopia, B-17 Bomber, Space Spartans, and a good number of others.

I would choose the SMS. I love games like enduro racer, choplifter, rocky, double dragon, and a bunch more. I think this was my second console I ever owned as well! Atari 2600 was first, NES third.

I'd say either my GBC or my GBA, gotta be able to play Golden Sun and Super Dodge Ball, along with the Game & Watch Galleries 1 and 2. Those keep me entertained for hours.

First favourite - Dreamcast, with Sega Rally 2, Soul Calibur and Sega GT.
Second favourite (from same era) - Nintendo 64, with Zelda: OOT, Perfect Dark and Top Gear Rally.
But, in reality, my second favourite console to the Dreamcast is the SNES.

I assume you mean second favourite console, as opposed to favourite second console (otherwise the choices would've been limited to: 5200, Genesis, SNES, PS2, ... :D ).
My favourite console changes. So this is only vaild now. Right now my favourite to play is my Gamecube. I just got Animal Crossing, and am about 10% through Metroid Prime. Plus I picked up a couple of the RE games. I'm loving my 'cube :)
My second favourite console right now is my PSone. I've portablized it, so I've been playing it when I'm not at home. And looking for games for it a lot lately. Right now Syphon Filter is getting a lot of play - I restarted from scratch and am quite a bit further through this time around (and I plan on finishing it too).
(I'm a vintage gamer but only 5% of the time I'd say. 95% of the time I'm playing one of the newer systems).
