I just found an interesting link to a site which explains how to extract famicom disc data and write them onto cartridge roms (or whatever they're called).

This guy used this technique to make his own Super Mario Bros. 2 cartridge, and it works! Is this technique old or is it something new? Does anyone here know how to do this? I want Super Mario Bros. 2!! (>_< )

Cool. I wonder if any English speaking dudes can do this service. I want doki doki panic, and return of mario bros. on cart.

Repro Famicom games would certainly be nice.

That's really freaking cool. I would love to be able to get repro Famicom carts considering I don't own an NES, only a Famicom.

I'm a huge FDS fan, and I love my original disks... but I know they won't last forever. This would be a great way to ensure their preservation. AFAIK, a cartridge would last much longer than a magnetic disk.

Though, of course, I would really LOVE to find a way to back up the discs to my PC; that way, I could re-write them if ever something went wrong.

It's the same deal with making nes repros. You just need to find a suitable donor for the rom of interest.

How do you deal with having to flip disks over or whatever annoying thing it is that makes them harder to play in emulators?

The site doesn't mention anything about transforming an fds game into a cartridge game. He is using pre-hacked/patched roms that don't need fds hardware to run anymore.

There's only one major problem: no FDS audio will be on the cart and it's important.
