View Full Version : Neo Geo AES
I found someone willing to sell me a Japanese Neo Geo AES 50011, with a controller, Samurai Shodown 1+2 and Art Of Fighting 2 for a total of 270 dollars. That's including a truly pricey shipping cost for it to come from Japan.
Advice? Is this worth it?

Looks like a bad deal to me. I've never been into Neo Geo so I could care less about it, but if I was, those seem like really common games to be priced with the system at 300 plus overseas shipping. I'm sure you can work out a better deal elsewhere.

Oops, sorry to be unclear. I meant that to say that the shipping is included in the $270. It's $270 total.

That's not too bad, but you could probably find a better deal if you waited.

If the games are complete, then it is a decent buy. You could wait and find a better deal off of neo-geo.com sooner or later though.

Check with Hit-Japan on ebay. Sometimes they make deals on the best offer options of their auctions. Might save you some cash on doing some AES shopping with them.

Is shipping about $100? If so then that's a normal deal for the system and games.

Your better off getting one in the US, shipping would be much cheaper and it'd still cost you about the same amount, maybe a little less (including games).

Shipped from Japan? It's not a bad price/not a good price. It's about what you'd pay from a retro game shop in Tokyo. There are better deals if you wait, but this IS a normal game shop price. If you want it, go for it. If you want to wait, you could probably find a better deal (with 2 joysticks, hopefully).
The games listed are about $20-30 each at game shop prices.
I've decided to hold out for a local one - so I'm still in the market if anyone has one they'd like to sell. Thanks for all the advice folks!

Just remember that local ones are usually more expensive than Japanese systems. The price difference might make the shipping cost moot.

'cept the games will be censored, though anybody who regularly uses an AES will get it modified anyway.
