Shantae (GBC) Complete in Box - $260 OBO

Well no one piped up with what a good price for this would be, but considering cart only recently sold on Ebay for $140 and the only CIB on Amazon is $350, I'll start off at $260 and see what happens.

Ummm...pardon my lack of knowledge but why the HELL is this so expensive? There's not much info on it in the rarity database.

There's a topic about this in the What's It Worth forum. Basically, the game came out near the end of the GBC's lifespan. The GBA was already released and, in fact, there is added content if you play the game on the GBA (which I've never seen another game that had that). Also it's a fairly decent Capcom platformer. Late release meant not a huge production number, no re-release, etc.

Good explanation. I've also never seen a GBC specifically mentioning GBA enhancements, although the Oracle Zelda's have bonus features when used on GBA, also thanks to being late system releases.

Shantae is a weird one, especially considering it was in development for GBA but never released. It makes you wonder if they should've released it later on GBA in the first place, but no matter. The GBC iteration is very good and enjoyable. It looks terrific and has great music. Too bad it's uncommon and upwards of 2 bills, because it's a fun play.
