Let's keep a list of games that allow cross-platform environment sharing. One player can be on a PS2, and another on a 360, and another on a PC, (or whatever combination of whatever systems...) and they all get to play online together. Any cross-platform will work. Linux, Mac, PC, 360, PS2, PS3...just as long as a console is one of the platforms.

Final Fantasy XI: PS2, 360, Windows XP/Vista.

Shadowrun: 360, Windows Vista.

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition: 360, Windows XP/Vista

Phantasy Star Universe: PS2, Windows 2000/XP/Vista. [No cross-platform on 360.]

Universe at War: Earth Assault: 360, Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

Shadowrun: 360, Windows Vista

...those are the only two that I'm aware of that share servers from consoles. There are other Games for Windows LIVE games, but I don't think they share servers with Microsoft's servers.

Are you also going to include PC and Mac as separate platforms in this discussion, or consoles and non-consoles only?

A lot of the Sims 2 series of games were designed to work on both Mac and PC.

Shadowrun for 360/PC was one of the cooler games this decade IMO. Just thought I'd say :)

Just got Lost Planet: Colonies Edition X360 for christmas and the back of the box says cross platform play on PC/XBOX. I wanted the PC version.

Obviously like all the Blizzard games are PC/MAC cross platform.

I wish all third party games were cross-platform, especially between the 360 and PS3.

Let's keep a list of games that allow cross-platform environment sharing.

It's going to be a short list.

Game Informer had an interview with some Microsoft Exec a year or so ago where he said they were done with the whole PC/360 game sharing thing. Anyone else remember this?

I think PSU is cross platform on PC and PS2.

Test Drive Unlimited is cross platform between the PS2 and PSP. The 360 TDU is so much better online.

*edit*

Not sure, but looking online for it. It may have cross platform between PC and 360.

There are quite a few PC/Mac games that share online components, including all Blizzard games, so Starcraft, Diablo II, Warcraft III, and World of Warcraft can all be played inter-OS.

I've been looking but I haven't been able to find anything...other than the fact that they may have shut down the PSP server...

The remaining online Dreamcast games are cross-platform:

Quake III Arena is cross-platform with PC, although obviously only with particular maps. Its online functions via user servers.
StarLancer is cross-platform with PC, the official servers still being up.
4x4 Evolution is cross-platform with PC and Mac, the official servers still being up. The PS2 version is no longer supported.
Sega Swirl is cross-platform with PC via the "play over email" function. I can't imagine anyone actually bothering with it, though.
Phantasy Star Online's private servers are cross-platform between Dreamcast, Gamecube, and PC, though obviously the Dreamcast version is limited compared to the other versions. The Xbox version and PSO Plus don't work.

Thats some good info. Gimme a little time to verify everything & I'll start adding them to the list.
