I was wondering about the worth of final fight guy NTSC complete with box and manual.

Condition:

Cart 9/10 nice label no damage

Box 5/10 many creases and a tear on the front where it looks like a sticker was removed, blockbuster video price sticker on the back.

Manual 6/10 maybe 7.

Thanks.

Im not sure on price but I have heard that the box for this game is extremely hard to come by.

the manual even more so, most blockbuster's tossed them out early on (I lucked out and got one with a minty box and manual for 5$ at an ebgames years and years ago)

Blockbuster actually throwing out the manual?
I'd have thought it was because customers were too lazy to keep track of them. :P

Also, being a rental exclusive, I'd think getting a box at all is pretty good.

It's tough to say without actually seeing the box, but I would think you'd be looking at $125 or so. The box is a big selling point of course, and if it's as bad as you say it is, it will really hurt the end price.

Weren't there 2 versions of the box for this? A more common version and a really, really rare version?

Dragged from the DP archives via Google. The orange box was the box available from Blockbuster while the black box was never released, apparently.

I believe there are around 3 or 4 known examples of the black box, at least two of which are factory-sealed.

Concerning the value... Given the mentioned condition (and your description of the box seems to me to indicate more of a 3-4/10 instead of a 5/10), I have a hard time seeing this one get over $100. Even near-mint ones these days only get to about $150 or so, which is quite a ways down from the $300-$600 these fetched about 3-4 years ago. In my eyes, it would be very similar in collectible nature to my Clayfighter Sculptor's Cut CIB (8/10 cart, maybe 4/10 box and manual)...a temporary filler.
