Best classic games for stoner bros

One of my favorite past times lately has been smoking with a buddy and poppin in some classic games. Our favorites ones are not too complicated but REALLY delivers on the competitive. So far the best games have been the following.


Super Dodgeball NES
NBA Jam GENESIS
Super Mario Kart SNES



Anybody else have any great suggestions?

I no longer partake in the broccoli (it's been years...) , but dude, just about any game with some skunk weed is a combo made in Heaven. The two go together like butter and toast. Canna butter that is, lol.

My personal favorite game to play after lighting up is none other than Gunstar Heroes. Super Mario World, Rock Band, Streets of Rage 2, Contra Hard Corps, Toejam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron, Ikaruga, and Super Smash Bros. Melee all get recommendations as multiplayers for me. Some of those may be a bit more complicated than what you're looking for, but I like the hectic action after smoking.

Some good single players would be Majora's Mask (any Zelda works, really, but Majora's Mask has the best atmosphere and story of all the games, imo), any Punch-Out!!!, Alien Soldier, Dynamite Headdy, Castlevania Bloodlines, and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head.

Since when was pot a hallucinogen? It's been years since I got the whole "drugs are bad for you, m'kay" thing in high school, but I thought pot was a stimulant?

The NES version of NARC isn't that good, stick with the arcade one IMO. It's available on one of those Midway Arcade Collections. That song that plays over the end credits is rad.

I lived next door to a burn out in college and the stuff he was smoking made him hallucinate constantly. I'm sure whatever was in it wasn't what you would smoke with standard pot. But when I think of pot I think of that guy and it takes me back to the days when he was running up and down the halls at 4 am screaming i gotta get out i gotta get out followed by an abundance of curse words and something about demons. Ergo why I immediately went to hallucinogen.

For the record I'm not giving anyone a speech. You wanna smoke pot or drink or do heroine go for it I don't care. I've never smoked anything at all and don't plan need or want to start. I've just been around to many people that do it to often because they either cant find anything to do with their time other than smoke or need it to be "creative" or "have fun" I just prefer the sober life style I drink occasionally don't get me wrong but I like being sober and enjoying things that way. I only look down on it when It seems to be the ONLY WAY for some one to have fun.

That being said I don't know the person who posted this and I don't know his/her habits with it and don't care to. Just speaking my mind is all, just speaking my mind.

I could never play Goldeneye baked... I'd get a headache soon after starting. Sitting far away from the tv helped, but then you can barely make out what was going on on your 4th of the screen... Useless.

I've not smoked in many years, but... These days, I'd make Rez my goto. Reflex and twitch games in general. Then abstract visuals and sound, up to outright music focused. That's why Rez is king, it has it all. :)

Cannabis nearly always seemed to heighten my awareness... Some lose focus, which I could, but I could also intensely focus just as easily. That's just me though. It does variable things by the person. Some are even resistant. As in, they can't get high or even achieve a buzz.

I've never hallucinated on the visual level with pot, but time-lapse distortion (longer and shorter by perception), altered states of touch and mood, which are very much characteristics of psychoactive hallucinogens, were routine for me. I prefer indica to sativa, but either are pleasant, yet different.

To the poops, there's never been a documented case of fatality from marijuana use itself. It's toxicity is extremely low. Low enough that the required dosage to kill a human is impossible to imbibe. There is prescription THC available now, but it's designed chemically... Basically, legal designer synthetic weed in pill form. Here's where the rub comes in... A lot of street weed is laced; Cocaine, formaldehyde, meth/amphetamine. I'd stay away from that crap. Since those substances actually mess with your health. Go ahead if you really want to, then see if you care... LOL

You've already mentioned the Jam, but that's one of my all time favourite 16-bit multiplayer games, alongside Super Bomberman.

Not one of my personal favourites, but stoners usually love Uniracers.

Completely right. Super Street Fighter II and Super Bomberman were fun as all hell back when I smoked, especially Super Bomberman.

Also the original Doom and Scorched Earth were fun as hell stoned and in the campus computer lab at 2 a.m. rocking the LAN.....although these might be a little dated for you.

Judging from that, he sounds more like he had some serious mental issues. I know a lot of people with mental health problems are drawn to marijuana (and other drugs), so he probably just hallucinated regardless of whether or not he was high.

Alcohol and any driving game = fun. Try playing 2 player Mario Kart while dancing. Good times. I used to go to a bar in Rochester, NY that had a Cruis'n World sitdown and they would have prizes for the person who could get the farthest. The thing was you had to slam a pitcher of beer to even get onto the leaderboard to play.

Diablo II (or clone)
Pretty much any MMO. You can run around like an idiot in those games all day stoned to the bajesus and have something to show for it.This all depends on you really. Do you want to enhance your game ability or just fuck around. Taking a dried gram (or less) of mushrooms and 30mg of prescription amphetamine will make you a far better gamer for 4 hours. You are basically overclocking your visual, cognitive functions and reaction abilities.

Smoking grass has the opposite effect on me. My reaction times drop and so does my gameplay. Pot goes well with RPGs and MMOs but that is more of a symbiosis thing then an enhancement. This is why they shouldn't give a rats ass about athletes who test positive for weed. If you won a gold metal at the Olympic games AND tested positive for weed my hat goes off to you, sir.

I play Pinball when I get high. :)-~

It's totally unpredictable, and has lots of flashing lights and loud sound effects, and can actually hold my attention for longer than 10 minutes. Some of them are actually kinda funny, too. I dare you to play Attack From Mars or Red & Teds Road Show, high, without laughing at least once.

With video games, my ADD sets in, and I'm always wanting to play something else every 5 minutes.

But I still recommend pretty much any Dual Sick shooter -Namely Robotron or Geometry Wars.

Oh, and weed is considered a depressant or downer. It relaxes you.. Not cranks you up.

Good point, really. Just in my experience, I've never seen ANYONE react like that, and most anyone I've seen have a really bad experience had some kind of issues. But that's far from definitive info, really, just from what I've seen that's the opinion I've gathered.

Games? On shrooms? I have to try that. Only had the chance to try shrooms once, and all I ended up playing was a little Guitar Hero II near the end of the experience, although it was pretty intense, to say the least.

Anybody who says otherwise, regardless of whatever random website you pulled the "Marijuana has more harmful chemicals than cigs" bit is not doing their research good enough.

If the person was seeing stuff, there are some easy, and common, things that was more than likely happening:
lacing it or giving it a snow cap or something like that (taking one heavier drug and sprinkling it on top of the Marijuana)
the dude was fucked up in the head enough to see shit, and since Marijuana is technically a stimulant, it could have triggers his own fucked up head to see shit more vividly when the ability was already there.

Trust me, chances are that the dude was already fucked in the head to begin with.

He had his problems but as far as mental health went. I dont think he was crazy...i think he was a dumb ass but that's besides the point. My experience with people that smoke pot before meeting this guy was minimal but from what I had seen they never acted like that either. I'm not saying that pot makes you see shit I said because I saw it with this guy more often then not, that is where my mind went when thinking of it. I know he tampered with it before hand but again its just one of those things that triggers old memories so its the first place your brain goes.

Yeah, that definitely wasn't just some regular weed. He was likely smoking some sherm (PCP). Or it was laced with it or something. Maybe he was also taking hits of acid or something along those lines.

Yeah, I just mentioned that as a joke(it's a game about busting drug dealers). I couldn't find the key in the second level for some reason. I do remember the employees at EB Games playing it on Xbox when the Midway collection was released, we took turns playing through the whole thing since there were unlimited continues. I didn't work there, but I used to go often enough for them to know me.
