The date was announced about a week ago, but now you can officially register for Classic Gaming Expo 2010 through the website:
http://cgexpo.com/register.htm
Register early and get the "Early Bird" discount on admission. In addition, the Tropicana Hotel discount codes are now available so you can book your rooms in advance. The first 100 people to book 2 or more nights at the Tropicana get entered into a special CGE drawing which will include the chance to win one of the following prizes:
*Huge system bundles (ex: N64 system with 2 controllers and 100 games)
*Ultra-rare Atari prototypes
*Room upgrades
*Vegas show tickets
*And other fabulous merchandise to be announced!

This year is going to be amazing. You'll see... but don't wait for the news to trickle in. Get on board now!

Joe,
I don't want to seem like a douche, but is the hotel discount code correct?
Versus the regular hotel website, the "discount" would COST me an EXTRA $128 for Thursday through Monday.
I don't mind paying a little extra (I made sure to book with the code at the Riviera), but over $100 more?

It's the correct price, but it's the Tropicana you're supposed to book at. Is the Riviera cheaper on that same weekend or are you comparing it to last year?

Yeah, something is definitely fishy about this. Sean was looking into it yesterday so we'll get it sorted out this week. If the rates DO get reduced we'll try to have the hotel apply a credit, otherwise we'll get in touch with everyone who has already registered.
Sorry for the confusion, we'll get it sorted out soon though.

when will the early bird drawings take place? after the early bird slots fill up or at the convention itself?

I'm IN. Whee. If the show is as exciting as signing up after wanting to go for ten years, it ought to be great!
So I've entered the annual drawing.
I've registered my rooms at the Trop.
The only thing left to do is buy tickets on the metal bird, and pray it doesn't make an unscheduled landing.
Las Vegas, here I come!

We'll do the drawings at the show, possibly at the end of the auction.

Hopefully this is resolved with everyone who booked right away, the hotel promised to credit everyone who used the CGE discount code. The rates are now $59 Sun-Thur and $95 Fri-Sat. The hotel's USUAL rate was listed incorrectly (apparently not updated for the July/August timeframe) but has been corrected. Without the discount, Fri-Sat now goes for $99 and Sun-Thur $69.

I just clicked on the link to reserve a room at the Tropicana by clicking on the link found at http://cgexpo.com/discounts.htm and the Tropicana website shows all the rooms as 'sold'.
Are there no more rooms left at the discount price?

I'm glad everyone is going through the link! Unfortunately it's not SOLD OUT as it shows, however :)
The hotel is updating that page so it's basically closed off for a short while. If you want to make your reservations today, call the Tropicana directly at 1-800-632-4000 and identify yourself as a Classic Gaming Expo attendee. Use the discount code SCGE710 when you call.
Thanks for booking early!
EDIT: 4PM, the page is open for registrations once again. The dates for the discount have been extended both earlier and later so those of you who plan to stay a few extra days and enjoy Vegas can keep the better rate.

i booked via the website, and the prices were 75/95... great news that the rates are even lower
however, the discounted rates were only good through sunday. i booked fri/sat/sun/mon, and the monday rate did not have a discount at all. will this be fixed as well? should i complain now or wait until the show?

Your additional days SHOULD be adjusted as well. They've been corrected on the site, so if you've already booked at the $75 for the days before or after CGE I'd suggest calling the hotel and confirming the rate. Still, you shouldn't be charged anything until you check in so you can have this conversation with them whenever you feel most comfortable doing so.
Thanks for booking at the Trop. See you at the show!

I just registered my room and put in my info for the drawing. I thought it would've filled up by now. Is the drawing still accepting valid entries, or has it just not been updated yet?
