View Full Version : Couple of Mame cd's for sell!
Over the weekend I had someone email me requesting 3 sets of Mame v0.69 romset cds. He said he wanted one for himself and two others for his roommate and friend. So, me like a fool went and used 36 cd-r discs and painstakingly burned everything for him without getting a payment first. Now he has backed out, so I have three sets for sale. Each set consists of twelve 80 minute cd-rs filled with every rom to the latest version of Mame v0.69, CHD Hard disk images (two missing however), and artwork, samples, etc etc. Also included are other arcade roms such as the Zinc stuff and Namco System 22 stuff. Each set is $25 shipped. Paypal preferred. Anyone interested, PM me.

I seem to recall a bit of hullabaloo about selling rom discs, but I don't see any problem with it. It's like having water in your house. Yeah, water's free, and I can go to my nearest freshwater spring and get it free, but it's so much easier to just pay someone to pump it right to my house.
Yeah, I'm just basically doing it as a favor for people...so they can try out all the greatness that is Mame. I am not selling rom discs per se, but 12 Cd-Rs, my time to burn them (takes awhile to burn 12 80 minute cd-rs on my 12X burner...about 8 minutes a cd) and shipping charge. $25 for all that alone is not that bad I think...
Well, if this sort of thing catches on, and nobody complains about the whole legality of the situation, I'd be happy to burn the .69 romset and all the .chd files on a few dvds and send them out.

Well, since you mention it, I'll complain. This is stupid. Selling roms is simply wrong. For one you can get them free on your own. Second, 12 cd-rs cost about $4 tops. There should be any fee for your time since you can simply start it burning and play a game, fix a sandwich, or whatever else. Lastly, and most of all, IT'S ILLEGAL.
