Ok, ok...as long as I can remember I've heard from so many sources that you can save Aeris or ressurect her or something if you have her ultimate limit break and weapon before she dies....is this true? if not I think I should stop trying too lol.

I *think* it was a Gameshark hack. And you didn't really save her, but she was more of a "skin" over your other characters. Seems like they had one for Sephiroth too.

Yes, you can only bring her back into your party with a Gameshark code, and it doesn't affect the storyline one bit. Cloud's better off with Tifa anyway.

Personally I hated Aeris from the getgo, seemed like a priss to me, now Tifa, thats my kind of girl, very well, uh, developed, and likes action, not healing people with a little stick, R.I.P Aeris, hate to say it, but I wont miss you, nor did I ever.

Also you could turn them on in the Debug menu, so that they came back as them...doing that destablised the game save I used it on. Thank god it was just a copy.

Aeris's ultimate weapon sucks...but her ultimate limit break is like God in a limit break meter.
FF7 rocked.

I think thats just a given seeing how Yuffie is the best final fantasy female character ever ;)

Best male character was Shadow from FF6...just sad though, how his story ended at the end of the game :(

It is a lie and rumor, and unlike things like the Mew rumor from Pokémon Yellow, it was apparently not possible in the Japanese version, either. Aeris is dead and will stay dead, although it's poor game design IMO that it has to be that way. Should have had a way to bring her back like in Chronotrigger.

I tried every hack and every code for FF7 and the only way to get Aeris
back is with the GameShark. Through a charector replacement code.
which you can find along others at gamewinners.com

There's a pretty lengthy FAQ about the Debug room and all its features at Gamefaqs, as I recall.

The Debug room is also accessible from the PC version if you download an appropriate Dexdrive save and convert it (with the utility available at Zophar's, for example). It doesn't seem to work very well, though.

Hey bargora, I hear that Salamander ends with your ship saving the universe.

Poor game design? I thought it seemed like a natural consequence of the story. It's a tragic, shocking moment, particularly for a Final Fantasy, and it would still have been cheap and manipulative to revive her, even if you didn't find her death particularly touching. Chrono Trigger managed to resurrect you-know-who by playing within its own time-travel rules, but Final Fantasy VII doesn't have that option.

Bringing her back wouldn't have been right. In fiction, dead characters often need to stay that way to have any point. It's like that part in the last Sandman book where . . . uh, maybe I've spouted too many spoilers already.

For all the Aeris lovers out there you can see her again (renamed Aerith) in Kingdom Hearts.

:grrr: :bad-words: :grrr:

Well, actually, that doesn't seem to happen when I play... :embarrassed:

I agree, though. Dead should mean dead when it's a plot point and not just an outcome of your poor RPG battling skills.
