What was the first video game, for a home video game system to have Dolby Surround Sound?

I'm not talking about Dolby Digital 5.1, I'm just talking about regular Dolby Surround.

I know that some Playstation games had Surround Sound, at least I think some of them did. But I was wondering if any Super Nintendo games had surround sound?

I think DKC for the SNES supported surround sound. The first system that really took advanage of it was the Sega Saturn.

King Arthur's World for the SNES had Surround Sound support. I have no idea how well it worked though, since I don't have the proper setup.

The game isn't that great anyways. :)

Samurai Showdown and Jurassic Park II on the SNES both supported it with the latter really going overboard with the effect.

Super Turrican for the Super Nintendo was the first to support Dolby Surround. I remember seeing the press release in the Preview for the game in EGM. For some reason that has stuck with me as one of the defining moments that made me want to get a surround system.

Actually, it was Jurrassic Park. That came out in August, 1993. Super Turrican came out in September of the same year.

You're close, though. Serves you right for getting your information from that EGM rag instead of NP - THE Official Source for all Nintendo Information™! :P

Not the first game, but Fatal Fury Special on SNES had Dolby Surround as well...

You can add Star Ocean to the pile as well, and it sounds damn nice too. :)

I really should play Jurassic Park when I have surround sound hooked up... The game scares the shit out of me, but man, does it have some amazing music. O_o

No idea, I remember being surprised to see it the other day while playing an earlier Genesis game, though. Can't remember which one it was, but I thought - wow...!

It is a little later down the line, but Iron Soldier 2 took advantage of surround sound in a very impressive way :)

The Terminator on Sega CD had Qsound (surround sound out of 2 speakers). I remember being pretty amazed by it at the time.

That's probably going to be the winner. Completely forgot about it, and I own it.

Well, if the DP guide is accurate about release dates, then King Arthur's World wins. According to the DP guide, King Arthur's World was released in March of 1993. Of course, that's just the US version, which I know has Surround Sound. If the Japanese version also has it, then the Japanese version (named Royal Conquest) came out on November 27, 1992.

So, Sega CD's Sonic the Hedgehog, Ecco the Doplhin and Snatcher's use of Q-sound do not count?
