Now that the game is out on the states, what are your thoughts on it? The gameplay, the graphics, online mode, w/e.
Personally I think the game is great. The graphics look better than Street Fighter IV's, and the gameplay, although simple, is really fun. Love how the damage is in the billions. The 3-button system works out very well.

Are you using a classic controller or arcade stick?

I use the Gamecube controller the most, but I've also used the classic and Wii+Nunchuk.
From what I've gathered, Wii+Nunchuk is actually a really good setup and very easy to use. You really don't need an arcade stick for this game at all. It works perfectly fine without it.

My cousin bought this game yesterday. He was disappointed by SFIV but has said he's always preferred the Vs. games more (MvC2 is his favorite fighter).
I didn't get a chance to try it out but I definitely want to play/own the game. When I worked for GS, I picked up a Wii arcade stick during the employee appreciation week. It's been sitting on the top of my bookshelf patiently waiting. ;)
As it is, I'm rather glad the game was able to overcome the legal hurdles and make it out here. I certainly wouldn't mind a Capcom vs. SNK 3 done with the TvC graphics and a gigantic roster to boot. :)

Got it on Tuesday.
It's pretty good, though I can tell it's not exactly the same as the others in the vs series, but it's still damn close.
Well worth it. I'm using the Classic Controller...still don't know how to make the second character appear (change characters mid fight).

I had a hard time figuring this out as well, as the manual is very confusing and doesn't tell you.
To switch out, hold back and press the partner button (B on Classic Controller).

Thanks Baloo! Works like a charm! :D

I like the game but I suck horribly at it, I use a Gamecube controller lol, I don't like the lag in the input in the online but other than that it is fine

The online is completely broken: I've been told that using a Wii ethernet adapter might fix it, but I'm not betting on it. Whatever happened to Capcom using GGPO code in their fighting games?
Without a doubt though, even considering the shady online play, this is my favorite Vs. series game since Capcom Vs. SNK 2. It's just so much ridiculous fun.
Also, I wish that Capcom had used the TvC art style in Street Fighter IV. I like it a LOT more.

Got it this past tuesday and "the gameplay" does remind me of past vs games that capcom did with the marvel universe.Though i tried playing it with a gc controller and i just couldn't stand it,looks like i will be trying to get a joystick asap.

LOL, I used the form search and I just realized the Capcom Vs. Tatsunoku thread I posted in was in Deals & Discounts.
I'll share my gripe in here too -
Picked up the US version. Nice to see this kind of thing from Capcom on the Wii (and localized for the US) ... hopefully it sells well.
I do have one gripe ...
... when you're connecting to an online multiplayer match it shows "tips" screens/slides detailing things about the online mode ...
... and one of those screens has a bold title that says *DISCONNECTED FROM ONLINE (the slide details that if you DO disconnect from online mode multiple times that you should check your internet connection and that you may lose points, etc.)
I SWEAR that I must have exited connecting from an online match five times THINKING that that slide was telling me that I actually DID disconnect from online before I realized that it was JUST A SLIDE explaining what happens if you DO disconnect.
In reality the online connection status was still spinning away in the background behind the slide looking for a match and I was canceling the search every time that slide popped up.

That confused the hell out of me, too. Took a bit of mental gymnastics before I got what was going on.
But the online is, overall, much better than I expected. I had a couple of really horrible matches that were flat out unplayable but I think I was playing people overseas. Once I changed the settings to only connect to people in my region I've had flawless fights 80-90% of the time. It's not quite as good as HD Remix or MvC2 but considering what people were expecting out of the Wii Capcom did this one right.
I've been playing TvC since the Japanese version and UAS just makes the game even more fantastic. And the Mad Catz TvC arcade stick is awesome. Much better than the Street Fighter IV Standard Edition. The parts are damn near arcade quality and the matte finish has a great feel to it. I'll probably mod this for multiconsole support and make it my everyday use stick so not to have to lug around the massive TE. Highly recommended.

I don't mind the GC controller myself, but yeah, the online is really hit or miss. Oddly enough, I got a better connection through a random match than I did with a friend code. I did a friend connection and it lagged ridiculously, but I play regularly and the lag isn't that bad, sometimes there isn't enough to really notice it.
But yeah, the online really could be better.
Also, did anyone notice how they took out the character themes? That kind of disappointed me.

Just got it, having a hard time getting used to the holding block + P to switch thing. It's really hard to call your assist without holding block.

Uh, you have to hold back in order to call your assistant. There is no other way. Just pressing B calls your partner out in an assistant.

Yeah, that wasn't english.
You can't hold block and call an assist. It'll switch you. In MvC2, calling an assist while holding back will keep you in block and call your assist. Takes some getting used to.

I like how you can combo Ryu's fireball super off of literally every other move he has. Comical.

It's fun, though not the best of the vs. series, but I'm just generally satisfied that Capcom even bothered. It adds something special to the Wii library.
What I want now: more characters, more stages, better unlockables (not single pieces of artwork or stage backgrounds where I can't listen to the in-level music).. just generally more content would be nice. That is the only major thing I could mention as a negative. I'm sure many people would agree (though perhaps a lack of additional Tatsunoko characters is an issue???)
G. Lightan is hilarious, as is that Lost Planet robot. Love the over-the-top supers and how the Capcom characters seem to have every badass move from every game they appeared in. This is the first time I have actually enjoyed playing as Chun Li or Morrigan.
I'd rank it behind the MvC's but above Capcom Fighting Evolution. I never really cared for the Capcom vs. SNK games, so in terms of fun factor I'd rank Tatsunoko above those too. If for nothing else, than the sheer joy of crushing Roll with Karas and Tekkaman.

I'll say the same thing I did when this came out in Japan: no Go Mifune, no purchase. LOL

Awesome game, and having been playing it since the JP version dropped, it's easily one of my favs Capcom has ever put out. Hell, I'll rank it above Marvel 2, since it's a lot easier to get out of stupid shit in this game.
Just plain fun, and there's something about picking goofy characters I've never heard of and finding all these bizarre moves that make it even more entertaining. I barely pick anyone on the capcom side and it's not because they suck; how often can I say that?

Capcom may be able to get him in as DLC if they can cut the red tape. I'm also saddened by the lack of Phoenix Wright, but I bought TvC anyway. Should be here this time next week alongside New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

I generally dislike fighting games, but if Phoenix was in the game, I would've bought it on day one.
