Over at DealExtreme they have a few different bootleg consoles such as the OneStation and "MP5" contraptions. Anyways the one that kind of caught my eye was a fake Game Boy Advance that claims to play nearly 500 games-

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24382

Granted they are not all Advance games, but it has some pretty impressive titles with about 100 GBA games, 400 NES titles (including a bunch of Japan and Europe exclusives) and they even managed to put a movie on the the thing (although its the Pokemon movie, to each his own I suppose). Heres a look at the game list-

Looks like a really good deal at just under $60, so the question I have is, what is the catch? Seems almost too good to be true. Granted, it is all done in emulation so it isn't going to be absolutely perfect in every aspect. Anybody have any experience with this product or ones of a similar type? Seems like a pretty intruiging product.

The reviews cite that the screen resolution/size is not identical to the GBA, the on-board ram is lacking so games that are resource reliant/heavy like Super Mario Kart, etc. will likely chug.

I'm still not clear on whether or not the unit will work with actual GBA, GB and GBC cartridges ... but there's certainly rom emulator support built in.

Battery life is reported at about 3 hours per charge.

On the flipside, it has a really nice looking backlit LCD screen, and apparently files/roms are easy to remove/add via PC/USB.

As far as "interesting" clone systems go, the price of admission on this one is pretty low.

Here's a pretty detailed review with video about halfway down the page:

I like how it lists "Iytaly" as a language.

Cool, but I'd take a Dingoo over it any day.

All you gotta remember is that it's still pirate fodder in the end.

I bought a GBA SP knockoff directly from a company I sometimes buy items from wholesale. Mainly I was just curious.

Mine has like 140-something games built-in. All of them are official GBA games. Some really good ones too. I don't have a GBA SP to compare it to anymore, but I really can't tell the difference. Build quality seems pretty solid to me and so far every game I played works perfectly.

DX has lots of GB clones. Some play GBA games, some are just famiclones, some are something entirely different.
I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a clone when I can get the real thing for less and just buy a flashcart.
The dingoo is tempting, but I've heard that the dpad is mediocre.

I like that "PSP" simply because of the decent sized screen. Haha.
The dingoo is a lot more practical though, it even plays FLV and AVI videos.
That GBA seems quite interesting!
