I'm sorry, all I'm seeing is a C64 screen that says "File Not Found Error".

It's showing fine, Steve. I can see the homepage and on the left-hand menu, there's a link to the VCA Project.

... no, that site is refusing to load for me too. Not just the direct link, but the main page too.

OP: your link to the VCA is broken.

Same here. It doesn't load, just the C64 error screen.

Works for me under IE, but not FF3.

So what is this, you're just going to give each vector a color or something?

Humm...very weird...Lady Jaye and me don't have any problem to see either the web site or simply the page. Ok let's try this:

http://ccjvq.com/slydc/sdc01.htm (without the triple W's)

or this (the page):

http://ccjvq.com/slydc/vca/vca.htm

And if this doesn't work, try to direct download the 2 videos:

http://ccjvq.com/slydc/vca/darktowr.rar

http://ccjvq.com/slydc/vca/starfire.rar

Right-click on the link to download, should work!

Maybe the browser is the issue. I used IE, so maybe that's why it loaded properly on my netbook.

The site works for me, I'm using Firefox 3.0.8.

EDIT: Wait, the main page works but not the link.

But I figured out why, here's the link as written on the site.
http://www.ccjvq.com/slydc/vca\vca.htm

It seems to be interpreted by the browser as this.
http://www.ccjvq.com/slydc/vca%5Cvca.htm

It should be this.

The Kid Vid Voice Module link has the same problem, the site needs to have the links fixed.

Hahahaha, I love those kinds of jokes. :whip:

Anyway, I think this project is really cool. I have a Vectrex but something is wrong with it - the vector graphics are distorted so not all of the dots connect, and the screen is jumpy. This leaves me stuck playing on emulators until I get a job and buy a new Vectrex.

So hey if the emulator's improved, it makes it that much more enjoyable. Good work!

I was going to look on the site, however I tend to run a check on new sites before I visit them - McAfee SiteAdvisor indicates the site is not safe to use (normally malware, a site that can harm your computer, etc); so I didn't.

You have a backslash in the link, you need to change it to a forward slash.

Hmm. I see you use McAfee. There's your problem right there. :D

No warnings for me - I think the site's ok. ;)

Sly's personal site is hosted by our local gaming group's site (of which he's the co-founder and for which I'm one of the admins). Our webmaster quickly scanned the site's files and haven't found any malware. As AB pointed out, it might just be Macafee overreacting, I've never heard of any CCJVQ member getting malware on their computer after visiting our site.

Fair enough! Can't be too careful these days.

I did love playing Minestorm and Scramble on the Vectrex system, back in the day, these were good Vectrex titles.

I tend to use Opera for regular sites, and when searching or looking at new sites I use Firefox as it allows Finjan, WOT and McAfee Siteadvisor to test each site before you click on it, and have an anti-script running too when page loads. Paranoid? Probably! ;)

the backslash after the first vca is incorrect

For some weird reason IE8 bypass the error and show the page correctly, while Firefox cannot load the page (C64 splash screen)

Mcaffe is a nice "false-negatif" maybe related to the wrong slash caracter

Hmm. I see you use McAfee. There's your problem right there. :D
I used McAfee Utilities back with Win 95, it contained a crash guard program that supposedly prevented programs from crashing, or allowed you to close them or restart them instead of getting a blue screen which requires a restart. In reality, the crash guard program crashed programs and the whole utilities made the whole computer run worse. It crashed Solitaire and Hearts every time I wanted to play them, and used up so much memory the PC froze constantly(the PC froze when I wanted to print a document every single time). I had to uninstall the whole program before the computer would run properly, and it didn't even uninstall correctly. I had to remove several components manually and go through the registry to remove it. It was still listed on the ad/remove programs list even after it was uninstalled, I had to delete the registry entry to get rid of it.

I wouldn't trust anything made by that company anymore.
