Searched the board and was surprised not to see a thread for the game, that is unless I looked over it.
I picked this up for the PS2 today and spent a couple of hours with it, so far I find it to be pretty impressive. It's a complete re-imagining of the original Silent Hill and instead of making a rehash of the original game, they went a head and basically created an entire new one. Nothing plot wise has changed much, Harry is still searching for his daughter in Silent Hill and weird crap still happens.
One major thing they did add was a I-Touch type cellphone with which you can use a GPS as a map, take pictures of certain objects, make phone calls to any number you see throughout the town and receive some pretty weird text and voice messages. As a result, you get rather interesting stories from the town, I've found myself more interested on finding out more about the messages I receive than trying to find my silly lost daughter.
My only complaint so far are the weird chase sequences from time to time when you encounter enemies, not sure if they won't get repetitive, but that's the direction I see them going as of right now. Hopefully there's more to it than "run through random doors" later on in the game.
Overall I wish we got this on the PS3/360 instead of Homecoming, since it would have been really visually impressive, not to mention it's also more enjoyable than anything that POS had to offer.
