Okay, I've had this gathering dust for several years and only now did I decide to make an attempt (i.e. get others to attempt to) identify it.

I do know that Ultimate Hits is Square Enix's game re-release label and obviously something is supposed to fit into those holes. The back of it also has another three rectangle shapes.

So what is it?

Looks like a UMD case. I know they did one with Crisis Core.
And "Ultimate Hits" is the equivelant of "Greatest Hits" in the US.
So....I'd say it's a promo item tosome rereleased psp game. I tried pinpointing what game but had no luck.

Looks like a UMD case.

Now that you mention it, that is definitely a UMD shape. Hmm..

On the left it could be for Zippo lighter.

I forgot to mention that I've had this mysterious thing since late 2007, so it is at least 2 to 3 years old and so would probably have nothing to do with Square Enix PSP games released in 2008 and later (as far as free promo goods are concerned).

The grey/silver outer casing has no other markings apart from the Ultimate Hits logo (and katakana underneath) and Square Enix logo (both shown in pic).

A theory I just had is that the four holes are for small cases that hold PSP memory sticks. None of my PSP memory stick cases fits the shape though.
