Hey Digitipressians,
I started playing the new Dante's Inferno for both XBOX 360 and PS3 and I have to say...this game fucken rocks! ( I can't say that in my reviews..but I can type it here!!)
I have a some quality HD gameplay footage here:

This may be a god of war killer folks.. This game is beautifully represented for both systems.
Our sponsors are still taking preorders for both versions at a super low price here: http://www.dascheap.com/dantes-inferno-featured.html
So if you happen to enjoy the full on review shortly, please show your support!

Looks like God of War, right down to the health and magic bars.
I dunno, this could be a $20 pick up for me; I can't see paying $60 for games like these any more. I went through God of War in less than 7 hours, I wouldn't think this is going to have much more playtime than that.
I played the Demo and all I kept thinking was God of War, which is all it basically is minus Kratos and the Greek mythology.

Same here. The game is an exact copy of God of War for the most part.
They even went as far and copied how the health and soul regeneration areas are used. Instead of repeatedly hitting the O button to open a treasure box with it though, you put your hand in the water and repeatedly press O in order to absorb it.
So add me to one who's going to pick the game up as well, but it really doesn't interest me that much. One friend is hyped up about the game and I keep telling him not to go out and waste $60 on the game when he can go buy God of War Collection for $30. Of course, if there's a game he brings up first and then I tell him afterward it's not that good or something along the lines of that etc, then automatically I don't like the game because he likes it. When actually the reason I don't bring it up to him is the fact that I don't think it's too great of a game in general and not because he said anything about it first.

I played the demo and all I was thinking was "This seems like God of War: Crusades editon". The story really does seem interesting and while I like pretty much everything about the God of War franchise; I'll wait til it drops a bit. Seems well put together from the demo though.

What do you mean your sponsors? Who are you and why are you spamming us with this? I'm sorry, but this is not a God of War killer. I have played DI and it is super, super derivative, almost like a bad Hong Kong clone of GoW. Ordinarily, I wouldn't complain since GoW is a great series of games, but in this case, they sucked a lot of the fun and production value out of the game.

Are you actually playing as Dante in the game? Or are you just a character in the "Divine Comedy "universe?
I mean Dante was a poet who put himself in his own story as a poet. I don't recall Dante doing any ass-kicking in the "Divine comedy".
Even if it is a good game I must say EA really has no shame. They could have called this anything instead of "Dante's Inferno".
I guess since no one probably has copyright on something so ancient EA took advantage of the situation.

I also agree that this game is basically a GOW clone with much more boobies. The demo was fun but like others have said, I won't be purchasing this until it hits the sub $20 level.

When I first played the demo of this game I was totally geeked for it. I love God of War and even though this is a blatant rip off, it looks like a really good rip off. However it seems to be getting subpar reviews so I think I may wait and pick it up on the cheap instead of buying at launch like I originally planned.

Picked up Dante's Inferno today.
So far, it's been great playing it. However, it's just like God of War, but just not quite there. It plays like it, yet God of War has this...this "thing" that just makes it excellent.
Not saying that this is bad, because it's far from it. It's mostly a "been there, done that" scenario.
I also got the figure, that looks pretty neat considering it's a freebie. However, the packaging is VERY poor (a bag, for pete's sake!?). Also the "exclusive content" is a fucking joke. One would expect to have a seperate disc for the soundtrack, but no...it's an option IN the game. What the hell? And what's worse is that they are selling the soundtrack "seperately" (digital distribution) on both iTunes and Amazon (supposedly). This is outright STUPID.
And the digital remake of the poem? What a crock. It's in the game, just like the damn "soundtrack".
Overall, the game is good, but suffers from lackluster "bonuses". I hate the DLC content (they could have just added it to a "special edition" disc), the soundtrack is a joke. But at least the figure is somewhat decent, even if it's packaging if half assed.
EDIT: I know the DLC has yet to be released, but they could have offered it to those who preordered only. I guess it's still something, but ...
I got this game on Monday and I finished it yesterday. I liked it. Maybe because I still haven't played any GOW's yet.

I'm waiting for the inevitable flight-sim conversion of "A Critique Of Pure Reason", myself.

I got a hair up my ass and decided to take advantage of GameStop's trade-in deals to get it, despite my former disinterest in the title.
And I'm impressed with it. The fact that the game basically throws you into a boss fight with Death from the get-go makes me think of Castlevania...but the rest is a really God of War with new clothes. I decided to play through on Hellish difficulty to extend the amount of time I spend with the title, and ended up dying five times fighting Death thanks to the fixed-position camera.
The game's not going to be a pushover. I like that.

It is okay. I haven't played GoW, imagine it to be pretty much the same. The story telling is really cool how they mix in-game with flash back in animation. Looks fantastic in Bluray. Other then that though, it is pretty bland to me.
If I get a chance, I may play it some more, but I heard that the whole game takes a dive at the end, and the story telling I think is cool is casted to the wind for some cheap challenges. Go figure.
I just wanted a break from some fighters and figured I would give this a go. I should have just stuck with finishing Mass Effect 1 though.
Edit: Felt like I needed to add this with out being less of a douche. Combat is good and fluid, and real easy to control. They are forgiving with combos, and they are really easy to keep going. There isn't much depth to what you can advance in to making your Dante unique. Really just Holy or Unholy tiers/good or bad bs. I played it for a few hours late last night, and didn't really put it down till two hours later.
I just feel like it is missing some flair to keep me going.
Really, I would just say, aim for the $25 price range for this. Give and take.

I've played the demo and liked it better than the GoW3 one. Whether or not that holds true to the final builds I doubt. I do like the fact that DLC is already planned for DI this spring.

I bought Dante's Inferno as a day 1 release based on the demo.
Yes, it's a rip-off of GOW, probably almost too much of a rip-off. But it's fun and the gameplay makes you want to play more, which is the point of demos.
And I'll probably get Darksiders soon too even though....you guess it's a Zelda/GOW clone.

How are they going to handle the sequels? Will we have Dante kicking ass through Purgatory and Heaven? And will they rip off the wing-ripping move from God of War for finishing the angels, cause that would actually be pretty cool. I bet the QTE for finishing off God will be pretty complex, too.

Loved both GOW's so probably check this out soon, still need to pickup Darksiders which I heard btw is awesome.

Just now starting the Lust circle. Everything here looks like a dick or vagina, I almost can't help but laugh at how foolish it is.
Everything thus far has been fun though. The only boss fight thus far was pretty simple to do, but it was a neat fight.

I was at my friends house playing through a bit of this. I like God of War somewhat but am not much of a fan. The demo of Dante's Inferno really doesn't show you how good this game actually gets, which is really what I based my opinion on. It just seemed too much like God of War at the time of playing the demo.
Now yes, the game is like GoW. But when playing the actual game and getting more moves, the game just feels much more fun than GoW. Also, the storyline is much better, other than the generic one we saw on GoW(the game is only for action and subpar puzzles if you ask me.) The story tells about how Dante gets to that point, how Beatrice dies and why she's taken into hell, etc.
So I guess I should take back what I previously said due to playing the demo only. This game owns GoW and is worth getting, even at the 59.99 price. I'm still going to wait until it drops to 19.99 as I can always play my friends copy.

Finished it yesterday, at Zealot level. It was pretty fun, but I am playing it again so I can upgrade all HOLY and UNHOLY levels (and get the trophies associated with them), obtain the missing UNHOLY relics I need, upgrade all relics, and pretty much do that 200 and 666 hit combo, to get those tropies.
But it was pretty good, and I hope it sells well, so we may be be able to see Purgatory in the future.

After being on my fourth playthrough in Borderlands (Playing since Christmas), this game was a welcome change.
God of War Rip-off you say? Sign me up!
'bout halfway through right now and really digging it.
Also, If you've never read the book I would suggest reading it before you play the game if that sort of thing interests you...

Finished the game four times, and finally got my first Platinum Trophy! Woot!
Question though...to those who purchased the "Divine Edition" (Playstation 3 version), there is a code to download the "Dark Forest" DLC. Yet it says it will be availble in March.
Does this mean that I have to wait until March, or does this only apply to those who did not preorder the "Divine Edition"? I've searched online, and from what I've read (which is a bit cryptic), it is as though some say it is available now for those who got the PS3 version, while others have to wait until March to purchase it. Is this true?
What if I use the code now, and it's not available? Will I fuck up my chances/code?

Just picked up 1000G on this one. It was pretty easy to get, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Ran through on Hellish difficulty(9 hours) the first time, then blew through Classic difficulty(4 hours) to pick up the rest of the achievements.
I don't know what the reviews are saying about the artistic design waning towards the end...I thought every circle was well thought out and designed. The levels get smaller the further down you go, yes, but that should be expected since you're basically descending into a giant cone shape. And the endurance levels fit perfectly with the circle of Fraud and its 10 ditches. Favorite levels of the game were Limbo, Heresy, and Violence.
If anything, I thought the final boss fight was a bit underwhelming, but I really did have a great time with the game and anticipate the next in the series.
