I bought this thing at Play N Trade last night. It's a copy of Jurassic Park: RE, but it's a Mega Drive cart with a Genesis label, very odd. I have the game and box. The game is pristine from what I can see, and the box is in good condition. The copy I have didn't come with a manual, but I don't even know if the manual was any different from the standard release. The box has the text "For sale and use in Asia" near the bottom of the back of the case.

The people over at Sega-16 said the thing is worth a bit, but I don't know how much it's worth because it's not complete.

As an aside, the game DOES work. I had to fit the cart in my Game Genie to get it to work on my Genesis, but it works, and it plays just fine.

Awesome, new oddity for me. It's a Franken-cart! LOL

Where was Genesis branded, instead of Mega Drive, in Asia? Could it be Russian Dark Sol? I'm just guessing that's why you want to see the back so much. :)

I've actually posted the box and backside over on Sega-16. I've attached a few photos. I still don't know entirely what market this cart was made for, and I also don't know how many are out there. Over on Sega-16 a few of the posters told me it's pretty hard to find.

I'm probably going to list this on eBay eventually, but if anyone wants it, make me an offer.

Hey, another Floridian! Where'd you find this, at Fleamasters? Flamingo Island?

Play N Trade, oddly enough. They didn't really know what to make of it.

Hey, there's another DPer from Ft. Myers that goes by the name of Penguin. He frequents PnT's around the area. I've never been to one in Ft. Myers, but the one in my hometown (Naples) has yielded great finds time and time again.

By the way, that is quite a find. Never knew regions besides North America had the Genesis brand rather than Mega Drive.

I once found a few games that were like that... but I thought they were bootlegs. o_o

The PnT I got this from is in Cape Coral. There isn't one in Fort Myers, at least not anymore.

The PnT in Naples is pretty good. I grabbed Ninja Warriors for the SNES there last week for $5. It's usually a hassle for me to get there, though, so when I do go to the Naples store, I try to make the trip worth it. They also do a buy-two-get-one-free deal on retro games on the weekends, and in the past i've gotten some awesome deals from them.

Again I shall say:

It's the Asian version of Jurassic Park. It's legit, and not a bootleg. It's pretty rare, and with the manual is worth a nice bit of cash.

Blur Sotong on the Sega-16 forums is selling a complete copy of the same game.

But what do you think it's worth sans manual?

Does anybody know what part of Asia was this released in? I didn't know that any games were released as "Genesis" except for North America, all info I can find says that the system was called Mega Drive there.

Usually Asia mean Asia except Japan and Korea.

Ahh.. lol.
Yes it's just a legit Asian release. Nothing more and nothing else. Worth 10$.
