I'll be repeating my practice of buying the 360 LE, not opening it and getting the PC version on Steam. Not for OMG$_$ purposes, but because I'm such a big System Shock fan that I needed to dork out and have a sealed LE.

Paid off my pre-order the other day and will be picking this bad boy up after work, so I'll be taking a vacation in Rapture this weekend.

Likely getting it within the day, but stupid work went ahead and scheduled me despite requests to the contrary. They must know... oh well, days off coming up! I'm quite ready to dive back in to Rapture...

I did two things I normally don't do: 1) Preorder and 2)buy a limited edition version. I bought the original used and loved it so I figure I'd show some love. Well, okay, maybe not "love" but the fact that it comes with freakin' vinyl record! C'mon...how can one turn that down?

Well, if the mail comes today I will have my CE from Amazon! Unfortunately I won't be able to open it as I haven't played the first one yet.

I never played the 1st one as well but it was at the top of my GameFly Q and it was shipped yesterday along with Dante's Inferno.

I am bad at seeing sequels of movies/games. I saw the 3rd Matrix movie in theaters before I saw the first 2. Boy was I confused.

I am setting myself up to be confused again. But the game looks awesome.

Already got it. It's sitting on my bed, waiting to be played... just the perfect time for my broadband to crap out and require an hour and a half tech support call. :( It's 8pm and I'm only just eating my dinner...

I picked up my Collectors edition. Man is it a big one. I don't quite no where to put it. It reminds me of the pc ones that use to come out. The slip cover stickers are weak. LOL Sorta like the halo legendary slip.

I picked up my LE from Gamestop just over an hour ago. So far, I'm weary. I've just scratched the surface, but it doesn't feel like it is going to live up to the first release. I think going with the Big Daddy was a mistake. The fact that the release was delayed a number of times makes me nervous too...

I'm staying positive and hoping the storyline will develop enough as the game progresses.

I just got my release-day copy from Amazon. I might try it out tonight, but I haven't finished Mass Effect 2 yet.

Picked it up from TRU today, along with a $10 gift card, and free Big Sister/Little Sister figures that should go great with the Big Daddy I got last month. Was a big fan of the first game...interested to see how the multiplayer is set up.

Well, I just finished playing four matches of multiplayer. Not really that great...but then again, who expected different? I would've played a few more but the server froze and booted us out. I'll give it another try this weekend.

Picked it up at Gamestops midnight release and I am kicking myself for not pre-ordering the LE version. The multi-player is fun and I just started playing the campaign and so far the story is good.

So far I'm really enjoying the game, playing as a Big Daddy took a bit to get used to at first, but now it feels very natural. It also took me a bit get used to the new hacking system, at first it felt like they were dumbing things down, but it adds an extra sense of strategy now and since the game doesn't freeze when you're hacking, it can get pretty hectic when you're getting attacked.

I'm also really starting to get into the storyline and how it's all nicely tied in with the first games, it gives me even more of a reason to search for the audio diary's.

The fact that the release was delayed a number of times makes me nervous too..

I honestly don't see why that would make you nervous at all, they announced the delay as a way to make the game "a better performing product in the marketplace", which basically translates to they didn't want Modern Warfare 2 to mess with their sales. Besides, it's not like the game was delayed mere weeks before it's release date or anything.

I preordered it and Amazon won't have it until Feb 18. Stupid bilingual law.

Well because of the harsh winter conditions my copy didn't get here yesterday, will be here today but called amazon when I got home from work last night, they are crediting me my shipping cost back like $6 for release day shipping, so that is nice of them and will get my copy today:-). LE sounds awesome so might look into that here in a few weeks on ebay if I can find for a goood price, got the LE of the first so probably should of got for 2nd....oh well will in a few weeks, till then will enjoy my original copy for 360 after work tonight!.

I got my LE in the mail yesterday, I love the size :). I still have the first LE unopened and unplayed though, but since I just finished Dante's Inferno I'm going to start on that.

I picked up my LE yesterday during lunch break. Like gepeto said, the box is big and heavy. Loved the contents as everything has that old 50's feel to it (save for the CD of course). I played the game for about an hour-and-a-half while waiting for the snow to stop falling so I could go shovel.

So far the game isn't as compelling for me as the first game as I knew what to generally expect in the world of Rapture BUT the decent flow of enemies (have it set on medium difficulty), controlling the raw power of a Big Daddy (nothing like bashing a splicer with my drill-one to two hits and down they go!) and my curiosity of the new leader/antagonist's plans along with the finding of a certain little sister got me engaged. Before I saved, there seems to be a bit of possible drama with a new character I met that's got me wondering where that concept's going to go (not spoiling it).

It's basically more Bioshock-everything works the same except for the hacking, which is fine by me. If you played the first, you'll feel at home and can get into the action in no time.

I am waiting for this one to drop. Everything I read says "The first half of the game is boring, but the last part is awesome." I don't have $45-60 for a game that is "partly good". The reviews seem biased and contradict themselves. I am holding tight on this one until a better deal comes along...

The game is really good. It's only "boring" because it's basically the same as the first one... keeping in mind that the first was great. So far, I'm enjoying it. A little easier than the first, so even on normal, I'm motoring through it. The hack bonuses are completely unnecessary and have gone a long way towards making it easier.

Loved the first and I'm really really tempted, but I'm still inching my way through Bayonetta at the moment, so I can afford to wait ... and a price drop will probably be the indirect benefit of that wait.

I will when I can find it for $20 :)

This. Well, I'll jump on it at $30.

I enjoyed Bioshock, but not in the sense that I wanted to. I expected Deus Ex, and got Quake. Don't get me wrong, it was a great shooter. I just expected a bit more depth.

I thought about going for the collector's edition when I heard about the vinyl and the artbook, but then I remembered that I didn't appreciate the music or the art that much. I love the way they used the art and music in the game, but I didn't quite appreciate them alone. Since that would be my only real stimulus to buy it at launch, I'm fine waiting for a price drop.

Can anyone on PC comment on DRM, performance, etc?

I'm also wondering about the DRM on the PC version. I got the Collector's PC version since I had it preordered on amazon. I'm honestly thinking of sending it back. I don't really have a lot of money. I mainly got it since I had had the CE of the first game. I need to get around to playing the first since I got a PC that I think can handle it.

It does look nice and they really packed it well. I'm also thinking of returning it since I don't think I have anywhere to put it.

The DRM does bother me. I just got this computer up and running. I don't want to mess things up by installing that securerom stuff on my computer. I think that's the DRM they're using.

Just beat the game and I enjoyed every damn minute of it. The only fault I can really think of is that the game gets extremely easy around the last act, that's mainly because by that time you'll probably have all the genetic slots filled, thus being slightly invincible. Other than that, I found the story to be outstanding, they did a very good job on connecting everything to the original game and it all flowed very smoothly.

I'll probably end up going back and playing the game again, which is something I very rarely do, but I need something to occupy me until Heavy Rain is released.

Roughly about 12 hours, it would've probably only taken me a lot less if I had sped through it, but I've always been an explorer and tend to take my time when given the opportunity.

Picked up my le yesterday and I'm loving it so far. I'm finding that all the things game informer slammed it for aren't that big a deal or just plain aren't true. For example, the reviewer said he never felt that powerful as a big daddy, but drill melee kills splicers in 1 hit, and I can kill big daddys in less than 2 minues without dying. That's a jump in power fron the first game.

The multiplayers good, too. I'm not hugely into fps online gaming, but I think the multiplayer is better than killzone 2, at least. You level up fairly quickly as well, so there's lots of incentive to keep playing.

So far everything about the game is at least on par with its predecessor, so if you enjoyed bs1, pick this one up! U won't be sorry.

One thing that's a bit disconcerting is that the game has a bit of an anti psychiatry message at this point. As a psychiatrist, that ills me out a little. I'm hoping the game doesn't end up being a scientology manifesto. I'm sure its just fiction for fiction's sake, though, and I doubt they mean anything by it.

Just finished it on the PC. The game is as good as the first. Not better, but just as good. The only thing I missed was the stereotypical Mexican voiceover when you used the Bandito Ammo booths (but I didn't miss the Circus of Values voice...).

It was definitely way easier than the first. I started on normal and then jacked it up to hard at the last zone and it still didn't matter. Fully upgraded spear gun felt like cheating and rocket spears are total bullshit they are so OP. Being able to have so many tonics on at once makes you unstoppable.

I mainly focused on using weapons + electrobolt. I didn't even buy any of the plasmids that are optional. Spent a lot of time exploring. I ended the game with almost full ammo, alternate or not and $200 in my wallet as well as every research capped except for Big Sisters. Had a blast doing it though.

My wife bought this for me as a Valentine's day gift. I thoroughly enjoyed the first one, but so far the second to me feels even better. It just feels like a more fluid game play experience to me.

Playing as a Big Daddy is also a bit of fun. I was skeptical at first, since I really was never able to get a sense of humanity out of the BD's in one. But it works, and works well.

Does anyone have an opinion on the collector's edition? I was going to cancel, but held off too long. I'm thinking about returning it since I mainly got for collecting's sake. I haven't played the first game (also CE version) yet, since I only now just got a computer up to a point that it could handle it. I was also hearing about some issues with the PC version. I also don't have much money. My credit card statement is probably on the ways, so I'll still have to pay for it if I return it.

I just started playing Bioshock 2 tonight, and I'm a little bit disappointed actually. The game is technically very similar to the first one, except there's no backtracking (which kinda bugs me)... but it seems to me like Bioshock really never needed a sequel, and that this game is trying to flesh out a story that was better left somewhat vague.

It also seems to me that in the first game, playing as a Big Daddy at the end was something awesome, while here it seems somewhat diluted. Lamb also doesn't have nearly the "presense" that Andrew Ryan did... but maybe that changes, I haven't gotten very far yet.

Played a good bit of multiplayer last night with my brother-in-law and one of his friends. That thing is so damn broken. We were all on the same team. The first game was fine even though we lost. The second game threw us into a fight with someone was like a level 25 and another guy who was over level 30. We're on level 3 and/or 4. Unlike some games like Gears of War where a higher rank doesn't necessarily mean better skill or weapons, a higher rank in Bioshcok makes all the difference in the world. What with plasmids and tonics and all, we couldn't even touch our opponents.
I can't believe a game like Bioshock would let such a mismatch even happen.

I love the single player game. I've already finished it and I working through it again on hard, but multiplayer just isn't any fun at all right now.
