Anyone have any clue what sonic game this was? Obviously canceled... but I've never heard anything whatsoever on this game.

What I don't understand is why it says Press fire in that first screenshot, it doesn't make sense. I have a feeling it's fake. Looks awesome, but fake.

Those images are waaaay too sharp to be scanned photos from a magazine, even if he did touch them up in photobucket. Sounds like baloney to me.
But, if I were to guess, given the amount of colors displayed in those screens and the "Press Fire To Start" message, that looks like some sort of Amiga game. Bootleg maybe?

That's Sonic XG (http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_XG), a fangame for PC.
Edit: Sonic's run animation makes the Sonic 4 trailer look positively graceful!

Yeah, usually when it says press fire, it is on a computer. Windows 95/98 perhaps? This might be fan made, either way, I like how it looks.

Yeah, that's WAY too colorful to be a Sega CD game. 32X/32XCD/Saturn, sure, but not Sega CD. Too bad; it does look awesome.

I was about to mention that. There's no way it's a Sega CD game like he was claiming, the Genesis couldn't pump out that many colors onscreen. The most it was capable was 256 colors in a still shot.

Funny how he still is saying he'll get the magazine scans lol. Doesn't know when to admit to just making the whole thing up.
