I've asked this before about six months ago, but no one responded. Thought I'd try my luck again. LOL

While doing some cleaning, I discovered my original copy of the black covered Nintendo's Official Player Guide. The one they made in 1987 that had information and coverage on about 30 NES games like Zelda, Punch Out, Metroid, Castlevania, and other games? The condition is still quite good. I checked Amazon and Ebay looking for copies and could'nt find anything.

Any idea how much this thing is worth today?

Depends on what kind of condition it's in. If it's in real nice shape, around $20-$30 is the average on ebay I'd say. Also, if the guide still has the original decal sheet attached (with Mario, Metroid & Zelda stickers), that could add another $10-$20 to it.

Decal sheet? x_x

What decal sheet? Mine never had any.

Was that something they added to later runs? I'm QUITE sure mine is one of the first ones that rolled off the press.

And I tried to keep it in good shape, but after so many years in use, the binding is kinda weak and taped up to help hold it. The cover and pages are still in very good condition, though.

Hmmmmmm I don't think mine has the stickers, but it's in good shape :) Nice to know it's still in demand!

Yeah, all the Player Guides came with a decal sheet. It's a 8x4 inch card attached at the end of the book. Had 11 stickers on it: mostly Mario and a couple of Metroid & Zelda ones.

Guess it's hard to find an Guide with a intact sticker sheet because allot of kids first instinct when they saw it was probably to tear it out and stick them on their cartridges. I found at least a dozen NES carts in the wild with some of these exact same stickers on them.

I've got a nice minty one too, but no stickers. :( It looks like they could have been pulled out from the very back. A friend of mine had one of these back in the day, and I kept it until I picked this one up I have now. But the one my friend had was covered in stickers, Several were Nintendo stickers, and a few racing stickers, Mickey Thompson, Centerline, etc. He was big into cars. LOL

I don't know $30 seems a bit high, maybe in the $15-20 range thou. Also does anyone have the Zelda Tips & Tactics hint book? It was available for order in the old Fun Club News that I use to have, along with the Official Nintendo's Player Guide.

Here's a picture of what it looks like, just disregard the others, although my Player's Guide is in this picture as well:

Yeah I've got about 3 or 4 of those zelda tips and tactics players guides. They're pretty useful for someone who's never played the game before :) but even it leaves some stuff to the imagination

Got one of these at a flea a few years ago, probably for a quarter. Had no idea about the value, it's a bit ragged though. No stickers.

I'll have to check the ones I have for stickers.

Also the Zelda guide is pretty cool, I got one of them with my game collection

I've got the guide, but it's been through so much that it looks like hell.
