The link, good sirs, is here. (http://www.EGMnow.com)

There's a letter from Steve Harris giving you a little info about what they're aiming for with the relaunch, and a look at who's contributing. It's worth a look just to hear Steve Harris explain a little bit more about their 'digital magazine' concept. If what he's after works out, it might actually be worth something.

It sounds like EGM will be like DieHard GameFan or NEXT Generation was but more internet friendly.

I ordered my subscription a few days ago directly off a link from Gamepro. I can't wait to get my first issue at the end of next month.

I also subscribed a few days ago. This is going to be amazing. I always felt most of the recent gaming mags have had an anti-classic leaning. Almost as if they're written by the under 35 crowd with little respect for elders and gaming history. Not so with Steve Harris. He is a true classic gamer, himself holding many world records throughout the early 80's.

I'm looking forward to what they do with the digtital issues. They don't have to be just text and pictures. Being membership-only (exclusive) content, it could be walkthrough videos, podcasts, weekly comics, printable coupons and so on.

I subscribed for a year.

How he finds the time to do this AND play bass for Iron Maiden I'll never know.

Seems really ambitious. Maybe a little too ambitious.

The founder and bassist of Iron Maiden is running EGM? Wow... Who'd have thought?

Next thing you know Bruce Dickinson will be putting out "Cowbell Monthly" magazine.

With which Bruce Dickinson? The Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden, or The Bruce Dickinson played by Christopher Walken on SNL?

I *think* it was supposed to start shipping the end of this months, right?

Could be wrong, but I am eagerly awaiting my subscription and can't wait to see it.

I read that the mag will start shipping during the first half of April. I'd say give it a little more time and if by May nothing arrives, then contact them.

I sure wish they would send out my issue soon. I'm starting to get anxious. Also, I'm never buying another Dave Halverson magazine again because of how they completely ignored my canceled subscription inquires and yet they are about to laucnh another video game magazine:shameful:

Speaking of Dave- I saw the new GameFan at Barnes & Nobles today. It was like $7 and maybe 12"x14". Freaking huge but still pretty thin, page-wise.

I completely agree with you...I want to see the first issue before submitting my paid subscription. When EGM was cancelled last year, I could not get my refund and kept receiving Maxim magazine until it ran out earlier this year.

With Play Magazine, I was told that the publisher went bankrupt/Chapter 11, so I was not able to get a refund.

Going forward, I am definitely taking a wait and see approach to print magazines.

Many people in Canada have gotten theirs in the mail already. Strangely, no one from the US seem to have gotten theirs yet, including me.

Just got mine in the mail today. They must be trickling into the States via Canada or something.

I didn't have time to read it but I did skim it. Quality looks good. Cover is thick as are the pages. From what little I read, it seemed pretty decent. Can't wait to actually sit and go through it.

Finally got my issue today and last night I got my code for my digital issues. I haven't had a chance to read it yet but I'm just happy it has arrived. Hopefully it doesn't get canceled before my 12 issue subscription is over.

I got the issue in the mail yesterday, and my online code a few days ago. Haven't really gotten a chance to read deep into it yet, but I liked what I see so far. One thing I couldn't find (I was in a rush, so maybe I missed it) was any reviews. No Review Crew?

Walked into the magazine section at Borders today and saw GameFan and EGM on the shelves, either they've both shipped or I walked into the 1990s somehow.

I like the mag as well. I haven't finished the first issue yet but I have very few complaints so far. I really hope they can ride this sucker out for atleast a good year or two.

I just finished reading it Saturday night. Love it. I read most of the magazine (skipped past the Street Fighter feature as I'm not that big of a Street Fighter fan) and the articles kept me riveted. Even read the interviews, which is strange for me.

What's funny is that EGM has maintained the same disenchantment with the Wii. Heh.

Picked up EGM at Barnes & Noble couple days ago. Good stuff, very wordy articles so there is alot to digest. On the other end of the spectrum, there is the GameFan relaunch (replacing the now defunct (?) Play magazine)...

GameFan is HUGE (like PSE2 - Playstation Extreme magazine from a few years ago) like... calendar huge. In typical GF fashion the news is all a month behind and rife with errors but the pages just bleed ink.. beautiful huge pics throughout. Unfortunately, most of Play's writing staff is gone -- now the majority of the mag was written by Halverson himself (not that it is a bad thing).

Hope this isn't seen as derailing the EGM thread but I didn't really want to start a 'GameFan is back!' thread.

Noticed Fiechter is now at EGM, as well as Casey Loe. At least I will get to keep reading from some familiar faces in one place or another.. Looking forward to how both of these mags evolve. First time since Dec 2000 that all my childhood faves (GF, EGM, NP) have been available at the same time!

I'm really happy with the new issue. It feels like old school EGM, but without the unprofessionalness (is that a word?) of the earlier issues (except for a fair amount of typos, heh heh). A seriously good re-debut! The EGMi issues are painfully slow to load, though. I wish I could just download them and read them offline. Anyone know a trick to do this?

I picked up mine at Barnes & Noble last week, and it is a good mag. However, I am not quite ready to order a 12 issue subscription yet. Also, anyone noticed that the issue date is Spring 2010? Is this going to be a quarterly publication?

Not only is Game Fan Pretty thin, but also keep in mind half the magazine is about movies, much as half of Play was about anime and other stuff.

Dave seems to have an obsession with combining 2 themes into one.

Strangley, the Iron Man 2 game preview is in the movie section.

As for EGM, I think even Steve Harris realizes print magazines about video games are doomed.

I think his real intention is to get everyone interested in EGMI through the print run intially and if thats proves succesful he will pull the plug on the print edition. But I think that won't happen for 3 or more years at least.

I keep checking the trackers to see if the digital copy ever shows up as a torrent but no dice yet (probably never /cry).

Magazines are still going strong here. That weekly Famitsu is as thick as a early 90's US game magazine and it's weekly to boot. Though granted 50% of the thing is b&w print. Wish I could be able to read them hah. I really can't see magazines ever dying here.
