Sega Genesis - Sonic the HedgeHog 2 variants

I have two Sonic 2 games for Genesis....

Back of the games, one says Made in Thailand...and the other says Made in Japan.

Any differences internally? Or collectibility?

Which region are they for? NTSC-J? NTSC-US? PAL EU? Australia? Brazil?
