Hey all... I want to know if anyone has the scoop on the http://www.intellivisionlives.com/ site. They have a store and I ordered some stuff at the beginning of January but have received nothing almost 1.5 months later. I sent an email inquiry and got no reply. I also called and left a message, and have not received a call back.
Has anyone heard anything about the reliability of this site in terms of ordering stuff? Are they still in biz/reputable?

Considering it was made by several of the original Intellivision team members to my knowledge, it's pretty darned reputable. It's a very small operation though, so delays are to be expected, although I would think you should be able to get hold of someone.
I recently ordered a t-shirt from id Software, and it took 2 months to arrive with no real communication. But they are indeed what I would call reputable. Just a small operation.

What he said, this is the official Intellivision website made by The Blue Sky Rangers (former Mattel programmers) with Keith Robinson as president.
Their Contact Us page gives clear instructions on how to contact them for lost orders (since it's been more than 3 weeks): http://intellivisiongames.com/contactus.html

Guys, I'm sorry but while your responses are technically true, but they don't address the OP's concerns. Just because the site is owned or run by the Blue Sky Rangers doesn't mean that they have good customer service or that they are reputable. I haven't ordered from them in years, but at that time they were fine. Actually, I take that back. Years ago, I preordered some type of device they were taking preorders on (I think it was a development kit for the Intellivision) and after months and months of no real updates, they cancelled all the orders. Not exactly confidence inspiring. If they are not answering e-mails, calls and/or there has been no response in 45 days as you noted, it's time to contact your credit card company and the BBB.

Yeah, they could have left for vacation, gotten ill and went to the hospital. You never know. If it's a small operation and nobody is there, the stuff could just be setting there.

When I last dealt with them back in 2001, the service was slow, but other than that, they were completely on the level. If it's the same people, then this should still be the case- after all, in this Internet age, can they- a small video game business- afford bad PR?
Just give it a bit more time. If you don't get anything, try to contact them again.

Just because they programmed for the INTV in the 70's and 80's doesn't mean they still live in that time period. I can imagine that, at least one of them should have a Blackberry or something. This is just plain old poor customer service. No excuse for it. Small operation? Well, if the website doesn't tell you to expect a delay then it's just poor customer service. Dude had to come here to ask for advice...that is not good, he should be able to get an answer from the company.
To the OP: In general, they are considered to be "reputable" as in "they aren't going to steal your money." What did you order from them? Anything you can't find here?

I ordered "Steamroller" back in 2001.
There could be a number of problems they're facing now- you never know. But if you NEVER hear from them, then that's a different story.
Maybe, being a small operation, they're devoting as much time and effort as they can to building the games they're selling? This might take away from other aspects, like contacting people asking questions. Unfortunate, true, and not right, maybe, but it would not be malice, or cheating, just "things piling up too much."

It's from Jumpman.
Actually, it's the Intellivision 'Running Man' that shows up in a few of their games; most notably Tron Deadly Discs.

Here's an update. Sorry for the MIA but I was taken out of action by family stuff (all good, I had a son).
So anyway, shortly after my first post here, I finally got a hold of someone after calling repeatedly for a couple weeks. It was only because they picked up. They never did call me back when i left messages or emailed. So this guy answers and says, "yeah, our coleco cart guy left. I'll personally see that it goes out within a couple weeks". So I wait and wait... and my order never arrives. I finally contact my credit card company and file a claim. This was like in July of 2010... again, I was pretty busy during this time with more important stuff :).
My credit card company says it's past the window where I can file a claim, but they say they'll try to contact the company and see where my stuff is. They are never able to get a hold of anyone, so they reverse the charges (gotta love American Express) and I got my money back. Then, like 2 months later in October 2010, THE PACKAGE ARRIVES! What the hell??? So I considered contacting them and giving them their money back, but then figured since their customer service was complete crap, and it took 10 months to get my order that if they really want their dough, they can contact ME this time.

I just popped onto their site to see if it was still up, AND if they were still selling stuff. Seems they are, and it seems they're still pissing people off.
You can leave reviews on the site (that's nice of them, now isn't it?!). This review was left by Daren Baldwin on October 23rd, 2011... just a few days ago...

So sounds quite familiar. My feeling is if you're gonna sell stuff and don't have time to keep customers informed/send out orders in a reasonable time... THEN DON'T SELL STUFF.

Yeah. If you're gonna sell stuff but you can't sell stuff then you should stop selling stuff. I guess Intellivision is, in fact, still living and I hear the keyboard will be out in the spring.
