Ok i've been looking into importing some super famicom games recently so I have some questions about modding my snes to play them. So here's the thing, i've found alot off information about modding the model 1 snes but nothing about the model 2 and i just want to confirm that the mod works on the model 2 before i go ripping the tabs out. Also I know it would be easier to take the cover off but do you guys think i could wiggle the tabs out with a pare of pliers while the case is still on the snes or would that endanger the cartridge slot? sorry if this is in the wrong section.

It will work fine with the model 2 too. Not sure about using pliers, it will break off. But it could also damage something else too. Wire cutters would work better. But your best bet is to take it apart and use a dremel with a "snake" attachment if you want a clean job.

Thank's I was pretty sure it would work but I wanted confirmation before I did somthing stupid I only have one model 2 so I don't want to break it.

More I think about it it would be kinda risky to take the tabs off while the covers on I think i'll just break down and finally get a game bit off ebay. I've wanted one for awhile anyway.

Thank's for the help.

I went a bit crude and melted the tab edges using a clean soldering iron, and then wiggled them out using pliers. No issues, took about ten minutes maximum.
