Did anybody else pick up the 1st round of Resident Evil 5 DLC "Lost In Nightmares" (and new Mercenaries/Online skins pack)?

For those who have been pining for more Mansion/Zombie based Resident Evil action, you can't go wrong for a fast fun romp through a classic RE mansion with a friend!

And with the new Mercs pack you can play as Barry Burton or RE5 beauty Excelle Gionne (and her reverse cleavage) along with a few new cool costumes in Mercs and online versus!

The pack also throws in a few new trophies/achievements and unlockables for your spending dollar.

Yes it's short (without saving you can probably bang through it in less than an hour and a half) but IMO it's very nicely made and very fun online with a friend (it has a nice mix of puzzle solving and tense action).

I played it with my friend and really enjoyed it. It was a little shorter than I expected, but it was still really cool for an extra $5. Can't wait for the next one to be released!

If you don't own the game you can also wait for RE5 Gold Edition to be released. It should include all DLC and it also makes RE5 work with the Sony motion controller(once it's released.)

Platinumed the game a while back and traded it in (when I heard gold was otw). I enjoyed it and really miss mercenaries mode and versus mode.

I'll pick up the gold version down the road. Sounds good.

I'm thinking about picking up this and the ep that's scheduled to come after it.

This gets me to thinking though: what the hell's the point of buying any game at retail anymore? Usually, within a year or so, you'll get a GOTY edition, Gold edition, or some other super dragon tiger edition that will contain all of the DLC and then some for cheaper than the original game! Guess I just get a little frustrated is all sometimes.

Well, the million selling "franchise" stuff is certainly susceptible to that treatment ... but stuff that bombs critically and at retail isn't going to get a gold/goty treatment.

As much as I'd personally love a Bionic Commando gold edition with extra missions ... that's never, ever going to happen.

Except for the fact that there weren't any zombies. Well, one did jump out of the water and grab me, but that was all.
It was fun killing those giant axe-wielding....assholes. Had some great dialogue:
Chris: "What is it with this guy and cranks?"
Jill: "Hey, he's a man of refined tastes."
That was absolutely hilarious at 2:00 this morning.
Wesker? Wesker was Wesker. I hate Wesker. Wesker.
I hate him, but I love saying Wesker.

But I digress. I enjoyed Lost In Nightmares. I plan to go back and try it on professional and/or get my S ranking.
Of course, I'll be picking up the next DLC goodies without even thinking about it.

There's totally more than one zombie, but they're basically just environmental traps, they're all very very weak, they don't do much damage and they basically serve to grab and hold you still while the anchor mutants move in for the kill.

Seems like I will be enjoying the DLC when Gold edition swings by. Looks like waiting is going to pay off. Just like it did for so many other games ( Oblivion, Fallout 3, Star Wars: Force Unleashed etc. ) Although I do find this GOTY stuff a little concerning. It basically screws over the people who want a game and get it on day one, who are the most loyal fans = (

I wasn't able to save. I thought it would do so when you reached a checkpoint, but it didn't. I noticed it didn't overwrite my main game save when it saves something when you quit. However, my progress isn't saved. Can you actually save the game in the DLC?

Yeah, there's no mid-game save system, but the entire play through should take less than an hour.

I had a pretty fun time with Lost in Nightmares...It played a lot differently than I had anticipated...much less action packed, with a bit more emphasis on creating a mood than in recent RE games.

Played through this with a friend 4-5 times today looking for the little medals/achievement whoring. Got them all but beating on Pro, that'll be another day. Fun little time killer.

I downloaded the DLC yesterday (Lost in Nightmares and DLC, not the costume packs because I felt a little "meh about them, maybe in the future) and I have to play it yet, I have to pick up my 360 copy of the game from a friend who I let borrow it. I really wanna try this out since I'm such a Resident Evil fanboy.

Besides that, I also bought the licker t-shirt from the avatar marketplace which is pretty sweet. I would of picked up Chris Redfield's suit, but my guy would need to be JACKED like him to look good in it!

You make a very good point. While this doesn't affect "every" single game release(as Frankie already mentioned) it's definitely starting to hit more and more titles. Rpg's in general seem to be a prime target because Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Mass Effect have all been rereleased with extra content. How much you want to bet that Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age have rereleases with mucho extra dlc coming in the future?

Star Wars: Force Unleashed Sith edition was nice but I had already purchased the Jedi Temple dlc online:( Luckily I completely waited on Gears of War 2 because I spent $20 on what early adopters spent atleast $100 for(the regular game, extra campaign, all dlc maps). So I suppose you really have to second guess some of your purchases. And for the people who held off on purchasing RE5--they definitely made the right decision.

What friend? Are you....game cheating on me!? You whore!

Also, I was convinced the bats that broke through the windows were those fucking crows. Scared me half to death. I like the atmosphere of the new level. It reminds me of the older Resident Evils and not generic action game.

I finally managed to play the game today since I just got back my Resident Evil 5 from a friend who I let borrow it. I enjoyed it and for only five bucks, you cannot go wrong with it. Yes, it's short, but I can tell I will be playing this online with my buddies to rack up the rest of the achievements I haven't gotten in it yet. Totally worth it for any Resident Evil fanboy.

I enjoyed the DLC too. It rekindled my interest RE5, and can't wait for more DLC.

I played it with Batman.

Also you slut you beat it on Pro without me. That's right - I said it. Wesker was *our* bitch.

UPDATE - The second episode in the DLC "Desperate Escape" was much more like the standard fare found in RE5. With Josh (Sheva's partner) and Jill Valentine making their way through waves of enemies (on most areas endless swarms) to get to a final countdown timer area.

If you had a blast with RE5 (some did, some didn't) this one is a no-brainer. It takes about an hour and a half to get through and is basically a run and gun/survival scenario.

If you didn't much care for the action heavy style of the game and prefer old-school RE titles, I'd say stick with the first DLC.

They're also bundled together now with all the extra costume packs for a discounted price (jeez Capcom, way to hit us early adopters for an extra couple of bucks) and will be on the Gold edition RE5 disc.

There are very few games I buy on day one, but RE5 was one of them!
Tomorrow is the 1 year anniversary, btw.

I still have no DLC yet tho.
