I don't mean to spam or anything, but I'd like some feedback on this.

Sega-16.com has recently begun a video review series, and the first one is up on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18Clpw4H4hM&feature=player_embedded). Yes, my voice stinks, and I hope to improve as we do more of these. I also made a boo boo in that I didn't mention that Bloodlines is called Vampire Killer in Japan. This is a first effort though, so suggestions and feedback are appreciated.

Thanks!

Good review. I though the information presented was very informative, and done in a very proffesional manner. You did a fine job presenting background information about the Castlevania franchise and Konami. This is an important aspect that a lot of reviewers tend to forget.

The review of the gameplay was great, and you went to a pretty good depth. The only gripe I have about the review would have to be that you included no music or sound effects from the game, especially since you noted the franchises' excellent reputation in that departent. Music creates great atmosphere in games, and you should include some in your reviews, maybe a little in the backround at the beggining or something of that sort.

That's all i have to say, and by the way, nice avatar!

You need to lower the volume of your music track. The music started out loud, then you started to talk and it was lower so I raised the volume, and then it ended and the music blasted out.

Other than that you did fine.

Yup, other than some volume leveling issues it was quite enjoyable and informative. A better mic for recording would be nice, but not necessary and it's fine once you get used to it. It's more noticeable coming out of the intro and then into the very different quality of your speaking. It did feel a bit long though, at least to me - around 6 minutes in it lost my attention a bit, but picked back up around 8 minutes. Great job, especially for a first.

Nice job Ken, great video! It's obvious you usually write reviews, as your script was well thought out and way better than the "on-the-fly" reviews all over YouTube. Your voice is fine, good inflection. My only suggestion is to purchase a better mic.

That was a really REALLY well done review. There are so many CRAP Youtube reviewers out there that its always refreshing to see someone who knows what they are doing.

As someone said earlier, the only thing I think that would make it better would be if you had the game music and sound effects playing in the background. With the right volume mix it can add alot to your video without drowning out your voice.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more!

Thanks for the kudos, guys!

Yeah, I definitely need a podcast-worthy mic. I'm using a headset (only one I have), and it's not the best.

I will definitely try to level out the sound from now on. I also plan to keep the sound effects and music in the gameplay footage. I agree that it should be there, as my voice alone sound too disembodied. I could have also shut up for a second while the music played so people could have heard it.

Those things, along with getting used to reading without sounding like I'm reading, are things I hope to improve. I appreciate the feedback! :)

Wow, great review, I have virtually no complaints with it at all accept the already mentioned lack of game play sound effects or music. Always been a huge fan of your site and I will be looking forward to more of your reviews!

Well if it makes you feel any better, I bought the game today because of your review.

Another great review. I've never played this title but will be sure to give it a shot at some point in the future!
