I'm finallly picking up a Neo Geo AES System tomorow. Alot of the games i'm looking for I cant find on Ebay, Is there a certain site or board that sells Neo Geo AES games? Also, I read that the US AES system plays Japanese and vice-versa then heard from others it doesn't. So does it?

The AES will play US and Japanese games just fine, with one caveat:

If the game has no US equivalent (AES or MVS), the JPN cart will not be translated to English. Examples are all the Quiz and Mahjong games.

If you use a MVS converter in the AES - the MVS game will play like a AES cart (Options, 4 Credits, etc).

Awesome, Thanks.

You might want to look in to getting your system modded with the Unibios. It will open up any options which are normally hidden.

I would definitely suggest picking up the MVS converter, as AES games can be ridiculously expensive. MVS carts of similar games pretty much always cost a lot less. Sure, the adapter's gonna run you $200+, but it's worth it. Just keep in mind that you will have some graphic corruption on scaled sprites when using the adapter. It's fairly minor, so don't worry too much about it.

If you do get the adapter, you can also look in to the various MVS multicarts that are available <quickly ducks as other forum members throw things in anger>. I have the 111-in-1 cart and think it's pretty cool. It's help to hold me over between tracking down some harder to find carts.

It's not simply the costs of getting certain AES games, quite a few of them, you simply can't (and won't) find genuine copies as those who have them won't sell them at any price points. So you'll have to settle for MVS carts with adapter.
