Another one sold for $43 (http://cgi.ebay.com/Nintendo-Earth-Bound-Ruler_W0QQitemZ140380316199QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVide o_Games_Accessories?hash=item20af51a227) a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure there was some shilling going on with that auction.

I understand why you'd think that with the 0 feedback bidder and the insane end, but I've met Otto and he's about as straight shooting as they get.

For all interested, this item was paid for in full and info can be found here: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?StartRow=1&catid=3&threadid=29501

This is almost as idiotic as the Stadium Events auction.

Yeah, the $43 one does seem poorly listed. I had no idea something like this could sell for so much though. The seller of the $776 one is the same person as the buyer of the $43 one, so apparently he knew (or assumed) it would sell for more if it was better listed.

Maybe not shilling, but something stupid had to have been going on to reach even $100 for a piece of memorabilia as minor as this.

Ebay members, specially Nintendo collectors, have lost a few screws in the last few weeks, haven't they?

Indeed. A few brain parts.

You underestimate the amount of money that Earthbound fanatics will spend on official items.

Let me rephrase that:

You underestimate the lack of sanity/common sense/intelligence that Earthbound fanatics will spend on official items.

That's more like it. :D

I would agree with you, but this didn't even make it to starmen.net.

Seriously, earthbound collectors are stupid. They overpay on the most minor type of items for such ridiculous money. Paying that much for a piece of wood that has a tiny printed Earthbound on it is just so absurd.

the buyer needs to smak himself in the face with that ruler for buying it at that price.

Dude, I seriously agree with that. To collect something is one thing, but that is just insane.

I think that's a good investment. In a few months to a year that could easily double in price.
