Picked that lot up for $100. He was willing to take that because he lives two blocks away from me and everyone else wanted him to drive somewhere.

Everything is in decent condition, Persona 2 and possibly Xenogears are the only ones I'm keeping.

Yeah, said I wasn't going to buy anything but this was too good to pass up!

I visited a thrift on the way to the folks' place that I rarely ever visit, and it turned up these gems:

NES Castlevania: $5
Another power center I can use in my rig: $2
Abalone (complete): $2.50

Not bad. Space Bust-A-Move would have been a nice deal at $9.99, where'd you score it for half of that?

Black Stone - $1.99
GTA:SA Special Edition - $1.99
Breath of Fire III - $19.99 from EB games.
Orange Box - $14.99
Last Rebellion & Lunar Premium Edition - Full price

:yipes: Your local EB had the Euro BoF III for only $20?!

Black Stone isn't bad and it's cool to see your copy of the Orange Box is in the actual orange clamshell. I remember driving all over town on my birthday 2 years ago looking for a copy of the game and had to settle on one that came in a black clamshell. I'd heard that Lunar had come out, hopefully the local GS has it for sale later this week, I want that limited edition. Is Last Rebellion a new US release? That one must've slipped under my radar. :?

Nice haul overall. I enjoy seeing what stuff you manage to get, our tastes mirror for the most part. :)

I had no idea EB games were still even around...

I went to the flea market today because we finally have some decent weather, I didn't find anything though.

Last night I did pick up a copy of Virtua Quest for GC for $5 at GameStop. I've been looking for a copy for awhile, so I'm glad to finally get it.

Technically they're not, but it would be a sin to change the signs. My local mall has an "EB" AND a "Babbages," and dammit, that's the way I like it.

Easy. You find or steal a cd storage case from a home or car and that's what you end up with. There's a very unhappy person out there somewhere that is now looking for loose copies of all those games to go with their complete cases. Don't hold those discs too long, as they are so hot they'll burn you. ;)

paid $1 each for the items above

http://www.evg2000.com/finds/201003/finds201003-1.jpg

$3 for the v.smile.pocket, .49 for the mattel football(original), .99 for the HP12c, $1.99 each for the pico games, and $6 or the fami clone, still shrinkwrapped inside.

I had a pretty epic weekend; personally, I feel it topped getting that NES lot about a month ago. Seeing as I took a trip to Dallas, I decided to take a look at Movie Trading Company (I had seen it mentioned in posts from other users in these topics, so since I was in the area, I decided to drop by). Price wise, some of the stuff was very well priced, while other things I've seen much cheaper at Game-X-Change. Still, it was a pretty cool store; if I'm ever in the area again, I think I'll drop in. Anyway, on with what I found over the past week, sorted by where I found them

From garage sales:
- Xbox system w\ 2 controllers, all original paperwork, and Sega GT 2002 & Jet Set Radio Future combo disc (Used. All ln like new condition): $60

I had been wanting to get another original Xbox, and this was a steal in my opinion. The guy selling it said he bought it new circa 2003, played with it once or twice, and then stored it away. I could tell; the system was clean, both controllers are barely used, and the combo disc it came with had nothing more than a few smudges on the bottom. A nice find, if you ask me. Now, to get myself an Action Replay, a copy of Splinter Cell, and softmod it after Live service for it is discontinued...

From Gamestop:
- Xbox Live Communiucator (Xbox. Loose in very good condition): $0.40
- Metal Slug 3 (Xbox. Loose in very good condition): $3
- Blue Dragon (Xbox 360. Complete in near mint condition): $9
- Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (DS. Original release, complete in very good condition): $14

Since I now have an original Xbox again, I scooped up Metal Slug 3 (Played the demo of it when I still had my previous original Xbox, but never found a copy of it anywhere) and a Live Communicator since they where on sale for next-to-nothing (Also, maybe get a game of PGR2 going before the shutdown). Also, I've been interested in Blue Dragon, and had been searching for an original release version of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (I hate the way the Best of Konami re-release looks).

From Movie Trading Co.:
- Snowboard Kids (Nintendo 64. Loose in good condition): $17
- Sonic X Tails plush (New w\ tag): $15

This is the first copy of Snowboard Kids I've seen since early 1998; when I rented it. It's not in the best condition possible (The other copy they had was in worse condition), but it works fine after I cleaned it up. Also, this is the first time I've founda plush Tails anywhere, so I couldn't pass it up (I've been hunting for one for close to 8 years now).

Not bad. Space Bust-A-Move would have been a nice deal at $9.99, where'd you score it for half of that?

The local Staples is clearing out their games. I guess they need more room. So everything was 50% off. So I manage to snatch up their bargain bin Bust A Move.

:yipes: Your local EB had the Euro BoF III for only $20?!

I was pretty surprise to see it myself. Normally they will not accept any game not in their database. I guess strange things do appear. I am hoping they will have Patapon 2 & Tales of Eternia Euro version. :D

I can't argue with Black Stone price. As for Orange box, this is the first time I see it orange. Normally it would be black. Last Rebellion is new. It came out 2 weeks ago. It got a mix review from fans & critics, but it is still relatively unknown.

I'll start with the "non-finds"

http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/4652/dscf0200t.th.jpg (http://img14.imageshack.us/i/dscf0200t.jpg/)

Turbo DUO and games from Ebay with an "Ebay price" :( but I would never find one of these things were I'm at.

http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/8738/dscf0201o.th.jpg (http://img97.imageshack.us/i/dscf0201o.jpg/)

The games that came with the DUO.

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/4482/dscf0194.th.jpg (http://img225.imageshack.us/i/dscf0194.jpg/)

Some more TG16 games $80 shipped for the lot on Ebay.

Now that that's out of the way the real "finds"

http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/2263/dscf0195rb.th.jpg (http://img46.imageshack.us/i/dscf0195rb.jpg/)

CIB PS2 games $10 for the lot. (Missing some outer boxes and other non-game things on some of them but at $2 I don't mind)

http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/677/dscf0197q.th.jpg (http://img37.imageshack.us/i/dscf0197q.jpg/)

Non-TMSS model 1 genesis and all the cords with CIB games and the three controllers all for $15.

http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/6451/dscf0202g.th.jpg (http://img97.imageshack.us/i/dscf0202g.jpg/)

Two large power gloves, one sensor bar and the GB game all for $20. "There so BAD"
all the other games were $3~$4 all for $15

*Edit*
The pics were to big, I can't tell on my 42" at home :p

Korg Poly-800 synthesizer, $8

Favorite find this week was the Korg Poly-800, hands-down. I've wanted one of these for ages. She's a little beat-up, but 100% functional. I cannot wait to dive into this thing some more. I was also pleased to pick up complete copies of Rocket Knight Adventures and Resident Evil 2, as well as the FLA CD. I have zero interest in Linkin Park, but I thought it might make for a worthwhile trade, so if anyone wants to flip me a game for it, shoot me a PM.

Some finds from the last couple weeks:
Picked up a new stand for my TV. It has 2 drawers in the bottom that hold all my controllers and wires. My only concern is that the 360 doesn't have much airflow so I might move it. It was $30
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2752/4415686165_ae8a782b40.jpg

Got a new shelving unit for my bedroom to show off my systems in there, only cost me 7 bucks
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4055/4416452540_de2dabb422.jpg

Then on Saturday I picked these up for $10 each. All are complete and mint:

how the fuck could someone lose the cases?

old game boxes are understandable but cd cases like come on
There was someone in my class in high school who only kept the discs for his games, he told me he kept the discs for his PS2 games in a CD wallet/binder and tossed the cases with manuals. I didn't understand why he did that as the games would be pretty much worthless, but he did.

I had no idea EB games were still even around...
It's around in Canada. I can even make out "EB Canada" right on the yellow sticker in the picture.

For some reason, when I woke up today I thought it would be a good idea to hit the local swap meet. I'm glad I did!

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_2s.jpg (http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_2.jpg)
I scored a big box of 2600 and ColecoVision goodies. Yes, the game in the middle is...

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_hs.jpg (http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_h.jpg)
Halloween for the 2600! Complete in box! The box exhibits some warping, but it's in pretty good condition. I don't think it was ever played, and the box is warped because it was rarely, if ever, opened. It still has a bunch of original $1.99 price tags on it. :)

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_3s.jpg (http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_3.jpg) http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_4s.jpg (http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_4.jpg)
Also included were two of these odd ColecoVision controllers with actual joysticks, instead of the usual silver knob. I've never seen these before... anybody know what they are? They aren't the "Sticker" things that fit over the knob. These joysticks seem to actually be part of the controller.

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_5s.jpg (http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_5.jpg)
This Y-cable was included as well, but again I don't recognize what it's from. It looks like it's for the ColecoVision. It has one female end and two male ends.

Other items of note: boxed The Heist, ColecoVision power supply, boxed 5200 Buck Rogers, boxed Alpha Beam with Ernie and Cookie Monster Munch. Included but not pictured: ColecoVision Expansion Module #1 and a small stack of educational TI/99 games. The whole box of stuff cost $60. I probably could have talked the guy down a little, but with Halloween in the deal I felt the prices was low enough.

This box of goodness was actually my third find of the day. My wife spotted it as we were leaving the swap meet... it was the very last booth we passed.

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_6s.jpg (http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/temp/20100307_6.jpg)
Earlier in the day I picked up NES The Jetsons: Cogswell's Caper for $10 and 2600 GI Joe: Cobra Strike for $5. I was excited to find Cobra Strike because it was a 2600 game I didn't already have, and finding those in the wild is next to impossible for me these days. I never thought I'd find two in one day. Other than Halloween, I already owned all the other 2600 games I found, but I didn't have boxes for most of them.

A good day!

Picked up a couple of duke xbox controlelrs for 20 bucks of craigslist, while we were talking about the controllers, asked me if I would be interested in a boxed snes as a guy was interested but had been keeping him going for about a week now, I asked how much he said 30, so snagged that as well.

He had it since middle school he said, was in great shape , foam, only thing missing was baggies, even had the wty sticker on the back of box with the purchase date of 1996 lol.

so now I just need a genesis box and a sega model 1 cd box (yeah keep dreaming I know)

Wow, I'm in awe of these great finds. The boxed 2600 lot, the genesis lot. Wow. Anyway, today at the Target clearance section I picked up:

Skate II (PS3) $9.98
Guitar Hero's Greatest Hits (PS3) $9.98

Each were at "final" markdown price of 75% off, so I grabbed em.

Didn't you check the site? It's labeled as a 4 in rarity. Translation it is scarce+ at Atari Age, probably uncommon (R4-R5?) in Digitpress's guide. Worth who the hell knows...

And yes, all those games are in the Atariage guide, with the Zellars games being R4's. I have a few Zellars games and when I sold off my extras they were just a few bucks each. Master Builder is the gem of the lot.

whenever i post prices on here, i get flamed cause im from canada and money just isnt the same up here (minimum wage is 10$, gas costs around 1.20$ / liter (~4.50 / gallon), etc)...

i paid 40$ for the lot, had no idea there were any games in there worth anything lol. Im also surprised at how easily the games work -- no blowing in them or anything like that... just put them in and they work. weird.

Not looking to rip you on prices, just curious as to how great a deal it was. And it was! Great find and welcome to the Atari 2600!

I'm... sorry, that is one of the most hilarious thrift store names ever. I can just imagine the type of phone calls they must get from time to time, considering that I work at a pawnshop called "Cash Converters" and continually get calls for places like Money Mart.

Anyway...

My finds today include.

Willy Beamish - complete - 2.99
Day of the Tentacle - 1.99

Nice lot and a great price. The Zellers carts are easier to find here in Canada so are the spectravideo games such as Master Builder but it is an excellent rarity anyway.

A week ago (early March):

Enclave (Xbox) - from EBay. I played the PC version demo back when it first came out and thought it was fantastic, but never could find the full game, sadly... well, the Xbox version is a lot easier to find, so I picked it up. Great game... the game does control better on PC though (it's a fantasy third person hack & slash action game with some pretty good graphics, good level designs, and a bunch of playable characters), so I still want that version too sometime.

Two days ago:

Art of Fighting Anthology - PS2 - $7 - complete. Not SNK's best fighting games ever, but good enough ones to be worth such a low price I think. I generally like SNK's later Neo-Geo fighting games better than the earlier ones, but that's so cheap that I couldn't refuse...

I also picked up a Wii game, though yes I don't have one... Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, for $35. That's about what it's worth online, and it's the first copy of the game I have seen in a long time. I'll definitely own a Wii sometime in the not-that-distant future, and I'll want this game then because it's been #1 on my must-get list for the Wii ever since it came out, and this will solve a lot of frustration at then having to buy a copy online or something... so yeah, that is awesome that I found a copy.

Today:

... Crazy store, giving people very little for their tradeins and then selling them for insanely low prices, considering some of these games... but then other stuff gets priced high and never marked down, so yeah. It's obvious that games aren't exactly their focus, but sometimes, like today, that works to the buyers' benefit...

All of these games were $4 each. Yes, $4.

NES
--
Mega Man 2 - complete with box and slipcover (no manual, though the foam block is still in the bottom of the box) -- I have the MMAC for Gamecube so I have played this. MM4 is my favorite NES MM game, but this one is one of the best too for sure...
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - gold cart edition, complete with box and slipcover (as above, no manual, yes foam block) -- Complete with a working battery! Surprised me too, but I turned it on and there were three files on the cart... :D

Genesis
--
TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist - cart only (perhaps the worst TMNT beat 'em up, but still, for that price worth it, considering how ridiculously overpriced it usually is... I started playing it. Kind of dull somehow, but good enough for $4. Most of Konami's Genesis games just don't match up to their SNES ones for some reason... (and TMNT III on the NES is way better than this as well!))

SNES
--
Out to Lunch - cart only. This one isn't worth much over the $4 I paid, but it looked interesting enough to be worth getting, so I picked it up. Well, it is a fun little game with decent happy music and colorful graphics. It's kind of like a mid '80s style platformer in the Bubble Bobble school or something, only with a scrolling playfield instead of a static screen -- it has small sprites and many levels of thin platforms filling the stage. You're a chef trying to catch the food that has escaped from your fridge. You have to catch the enemies (animate food items) in your net and then return them to the cage before time runs out. Fun concept, good gameplay. I can see it getting repetitive if the game goes on for too long because you're doing the same thing in every level and there is no saving or passwords, but still, a pretty good effort from Mindscape for sure.

1942

Wild Gunman

They had more arcades, I just didn't have more money. I might have to stop by and pick up some others.

It's actually in Milwaukee [technically Greenfield], but it's still only a 15/20 minute drive for me; so I consider it "local". One of my friends works there, and gave me a heads up about them. The playchoice was in their basement, which is locked and you have to access from outside the store; so the majority of people probably wouldn't have even known they had it.

If your ever back in the area, just stop by and see what they have. It's: Lost World of Wonders. The guy that owns it buys and sells machines all the time. I caught him at one of the "I need to clean out space" times, so I got a good deal on them.

My mother in law called to tell me she picked up a couple of complete games for me at the flea market in Kentucky this weekend. Tomba!2, R-Types, Warcaft 2, Spyro the Dragon, and Army Men 3D for the playstation. She said they wanted $3 a game but she haggled them down to $12.

This put me over the 400 game mark for the Playstation.

I also picked up a minty copy of Mutant League Football for the Genesis for $2 at Goodwill

So my wife has had this parasite for a while now, and the doctors finally decided to remove it about a week ago. This is what they found when they cut it out:

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/IMG_2735small.jpg

When it isn't screaming, it is really pretty cute. So, we decided to keep it, call it 'Stella' and dress it in pink clothing. I guess that counts as a find.

Gaming related things have been pretty dry, and obviously I haven't been doing quite so much searching as usual. Here's what I've come up with over the past few weeks.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds207a.jpg

The Star Trek game was kinda pricey at $7 from GW, but I'm a sucker for non-rectangular PC game boxes. X-Com was $3 or so. The Game.com boxes were the sad carnage from a thief. I found them in the back of a Savers scattered across a large table haphazardly. They all have boxes and manuals, but no games. I brought them to the register and a manager sold them to me for 0.29 each (not counting Monopoly and Frogger, which got tossed in free. That is except for the new/sealed Batman & Robin, which was found previously at a different thrift for a couple bucks. Very odd to see Game.com stuff twice in a couple weeks, as I've only ever seen my system w/ games, a bare system, and a loose game over the past 3 or so years.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds207b.jpg
Picked this up off CL for $75. Decent game list, but they weren't really the reason it was worth it. Hoping the particular item will sell on Amazon quickly... I have the lowest price, which is absurd, so I may lower it some more so it sells quickly. Also THPS3 is sealed. Whoopedeedoo!

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds207c.jpg
I'm pretty happy with this last find. I never really cared about the Xbox, but I have one that I keep around and don't play. So, I figure if I'm going to have one, might as well have it CIB and have it be a cool version (I need to sell my old one now). This one also has a mod chip (Xecutor?... I know nothing about them) and a 100 or so GB HDD and tons of classic ROMs on it as well as media apps and such. The seller said he'd never used the disc drive, so I assumed that was 'CL seller speak' for it doesn't work, but turns out it works fine. My only issue is that it is missing the screws that hold the top on... anyone have a picture/description of those so I can look for replacements? Paid $50 for it.

Yeah, I've got two component cables myself, but they're so hard to find that I haven't the heart to sell either one. I'm still actively using one, despite owning a Wii. Playing GC games on the Wii is an unnecessary pain.

as far as the whole loose games thing goes, I see it fairly common amongst those in the lower income brackets. my nephew used to keep all his ps games in a cd case as he would lose the cases and manuals all the time, same with cd's.

I got a lot of sega cd and saturn games a few months back all lose ( all needing buffing too alas), an all loose. It happens but yeah I do wonder when I see em offered on cl if it is stolen.

picled up ff13 and castlevania dawn of sorrow for the ds complete for 14.99, and let my daughter snag the jirachi pokemon for the preorders of heartgold as well so she was happy.

NES games were $2 each, all in good shape except for Mike Tyson, who looks like Evander took an eye for an ear. King of the Monsters 2 is missing the manual and has rental stickers on the cart label, but only $1. $2 for the Saturn arcade stick, which works great. $4 for the PSX case, might stick that under my retrogaming TV.

Also got three $0.25 cassettes. Duran Duran's Notorious, Rockwell's Somebody's Watching Me, and Gamalon's Aerial View. Never heard of Gamalon, but they've got a nice 1990 sound, guitars and synth, no vocals.
