The mountain dew xbox is my personal holy grail of gaming, I have been looking for one forever

Me too. Not actively so, but still looking for one. Nice find!

Today I hit a couple of stores and then it started raining so I came home. here's what I found when I was out:

http://img355.imageshack.us/img355/1307/sam0905.jpg (http://img355.imageshack.us/i/sam0905.jpg/)

From thrift store:
Dead Mans Hand (Xbox) complete $3.43
Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2 (Xbox) complete $3.43
buster's Hidden Treasure (Genesis) complete $1.21
Blasto (PS1) $1.91
Army Men Team Assault (PS1) $1.91
Razor racing (PS1) $1.91
Jet Moto 3 (PS1) $1.91
Championship Surfer (PS1) $1.91
Walt Disney World Magical racing Tour (PS1) $1.91

Then I went to Best Buy because I had $10 best buy bucks that were expiring on the 13th, so I got:
Brutal Legend (360) was $19.99, so $9.99 with my bucks.

Not a bad morning for me.

Today's finds:

Kickle Cubicle (NES, loose) - $2
Four pairs of socks (feet, brand new) - $2 :p

Yes, the fox got some socks but he didn't find a box or something.

Congrats on the find. Now you just need to find the box and manual for it.

Good luck on finding the manual. I hear those things are pretty rare and valuable. I've yet to see one in the wild myself.

A few quick finds:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/hellvin/2010-03-10130627.jpg

Went to play and trade and they had some decent saturn games traded in. I grabbed Quake for 10, and while I was looking around the cute girl working the counter noticed I had it and said there were some more in the back. She brought them out and let me look through the others. They were NICE titles but I already had almost all of them and they were hella expensive. 100 dollar guardian heroes, 50 dollar die hard arcade....DAYMN. I grabbed Shining Wisdom which I didn't have, and was priced at 30, which seemed just below standard ebay going rate.

So my wife has had this parasite for a while now, and the doctors finally decided to remove it about a week ago. This is what they found when they cut it out:

All together now: AWWWW. I'm pretty sure that's the cutest "find" ever posted on this board. Congrats.

No finds for me. It's been dry the last couple of weeks.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is selling at many places(Best Buy, Kmart) for $19.99 now. It didn't sell to well. And as someone who played the demo, that's probably because it sucked.

I got a copy of it for $5 when it first came out. A local Blockbuster was selling it $5 because it was disk-only, and someone behind the counter mentioned that they had the box for it. I still haven't played it, but I couldn't pass it up for $5.

Brutal Legend was $24.99 used at my Blockbuster as of a couple days ago.

Brutal Legend was $24.99 used at my Blockbuster as of a couple days ago.Did you try ringing it up? Back in December I was buying copies of Wii Music and Mario Super Sluggers at BlockBuster to flip and they all rang up at $9.99 but had stickers for $19.99 or more, they just don't bother to change the prices.

Also, some finds at the swap meet on Sunday that I forgot to mention:

Kirby Super Star
Super Metroid
Metal Combat
Goldeneye
$5 each

Thought Metal Combat was Metal Warriors... Oh well.

EZ Pawn:
Madden 09 DS cart only - $9.99
Beyond Good And Evil PS2 - $4.99
DDR Supernova 2 - $4.99
Shadow of the Colossus - $4.99
Final Fantasy XII CE - $4.99

Bought about $200 worth of clearance stuff at Sear's. Standard stuff like Metroid Trilogy, Fallout GOTY, Muramasa, Hot Shots Golf PS3, 6 copies of Singstar V.2 w/ mics that were $2.97 each and other crap. About 30 09 PS3 sports games which I promptly sold to EZ Pawn for $250 cash.

Today grabbed the new Demon Hunter and Gorillaz albums at Best Buy, plus a HeartGold preorder Ho-Oh figure. Can't wait, everything else is going on hold when Pokemon comes out!

Today I picked up an odd assortment of stuff. A baggie of Xbox controller connectors for $1.99, Bump N' Jump for the Intellivision with a label I've never seen before for $1.99, a C=64 plug-and-play for $4.49, a loose copy of Lemmings for the SNES for $4.49, a Jaguar RF adapter for $2.99, a loose Halley Wars for the Game Gear for $1.99, Double Dragon for the SMS for $2.69, Dragon's Fury for the Genesis for $2.69, a 77-in-1 wireless plug-and-play for $2.98, and a Tiger Electronics Jurassic Park handheld for $1.99. But the best thing I found all day was a boxed Dreamcast for $25.99. I have had incredibly bad luck with Dreamcasts bought in the wild, I've bought four or five and not one of them works. I've wanted a backup for my original DC, and now I have one. It works fine, it came with two controllers and a VMU. The most astonishing part was that when I checked the files on the VMU, there were no sports games! It was all good launch titles. Apparently the previous owner sucked royally, since "DAD" did pretty lousy at Hydro Thunder. He didn't unlock anything, and I easily beat all his scores. Sad, really.

Before work I stopped at Best Buy and picked up:

Valkyrie Profile (NDS) - $14.99 brand-new. Apparently part of some kind of Easter sale going on.

Also, not really a 'find', but I'm posting it anyways! Received 'Rock n Roll Racing' (SNES), CIB, in the mail...courtesy of ebay!

I will start with the newer find first. Many of the Hollywood Video locations in Minneapolis are closing down. Games are at 50% off and movies are at 3/10.00. I purchased Under the Skin and Tokobot + for PS2 for 2.50 each.

http://homepage.mac.com/vasspeppers/Images/TokoSkin.jpg

Next is a find from earlier this month. A Original Gameboy in the box with Tetris! Very nice find, it is in the box with the styro, the styro lid and all the paper crap including system manuals, Tetris manual poster and accessory guide and the caution paper showing the corrrect way to insert a game.

http://homepage.mac.com/vasspeppers/Images/Gameboy.jpg

When I picked it up from my local Value Village thrift store there were sticker labels on front, back and top. They all were from the JCPenny's catalog order dept, but as you can see they all came off really easy. From the list of included accessories on the front of the box the only thing missing is the original batteries that came with it. One drawback is that there are three or four lines of missing pixels on the left side of the screen when turned on.

http://homepage.mac.com/vasspeppers/Images/Gameboy2.jpg

The Gameboy also came with a game called WordZap and it's instruction. I sold that off on eBay for 7.00 which almost covers the 9.99 I paid for the whole works. This was an unusual find for only 9.99 considering that in the same lock case they have Donkey Kong Classics -loose for 17.00!

Last weekend, I had a good craigslist find:
-Model 1 Genesis (High-Definition Graphics TMSS unit, terrible shape though)
-Model 2 Genesis (VA3 with CXA1645 graphics chip)
-NES RF Adapter
-Genesis 6-button controller (original)
-Genesis model 2 AC adapter (horrible shape, previous owner fashioned it into a model 1 AC adapter)

$15 for all. Most excited about the Model 2 Genesis :O

Okay, I've seen this a couple of times - what "TMSS" and how do you know if your model 1 is one of these?

Also, found today at Movie Trading Co:

Suzuki Alstare Racing (DC) $7.99
Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 (DC) $7.99

Two different variants of the High Definition Graphics Genesis Model 1 exist, one which boots straight to the game (NON-TMSS), the other will show this screen before booting whatever game you've inserted (TMSS):

Yeah, Sega-16 is where I found out about Genesis variants. Although non-TMSS units are supposed to be better, my TMSS unit is seemingly just as good. When you get a Genesis, you've got a chance of getting a bad revision. Blargh.

I had a trip out of town after getting off work today, so I decided to make the most of it and go to Game-X-Change (Which, the manager at that store said that they are in the process of getting a Game-X-Change in my hometown. This will be very nice...). Here's what I've found over the past week, plus the stuff from earlier today:

From Game-X-Change:
- Half-Life (PlayStation 2. In case, in very good condition): $13
- Halo 2 (Xbox. Complete, in near mint condition): $13
- Gunvalkyrie (Xbox. Complete, in very good shape): $10
- Stargate SG-1: Season 2 box set (DVD. In mint condition): $20

There was quite a bit I wanted to get, but I decided to hold myself back and just get what I have listed above. Having an original Xbox again does open up many options I didn't have only having a 360 (Also, PGR2 just runs better on the original).

From thrift stores:

- Monster Rancher: Volume 6 (VHS. In very good condition): $1

This was a surprise; I haven't seen the show in well over a decade, and stumbled onto a VHS tape of a few episodes. On Amazon, it's one of the tapes of the series that people are selling for well over $30, which makes the price I got it at even more of a steal.

At Gamestop...well, at least coming up Sunday morning:

- Pokémon SoulSilver (DS. New): Retail price

I may not have it yet, but I may as well list it since I'll be coming to their early opening to get my copy this Sunday. I've waited a long time for this...

Robocalypse (DS) $7.84
Tokyo Beat Down (DS) $12.28
It's Mr Pants (GBA) $3.99
Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna (PC) $9.99
Fallout Trilogy (Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics) (PC) $12.99

I was in there over the weekend returning some 120mm fans I didn't need and picked up Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga (PC) for $6.99

Prehaps I spoke too soon with my last post...because I just found something a few minutes ago that easily tops every other find I've had this year so far:

- Sega 32X (Loose w\ AC adaptor and spacer for Genesis 2): $1

5 years of searching, and I find one locally at a garage sale. It's missing the passthrough cable, but I can buy one later; it's just good finally having found the system, even if that cable is missing. Now, I'm one step closer to finally getting to test those copies of Knuckles' Chaotix and Kolibri I've had in storage for years...

Also, I picked up Monster Rancher 4 (PS2. Complete in good shape) for $5. It's for my brother-in-law, who was trying to find a copy last night at Game-X-Change. Still, I has a 32X now

Casino Kid (NES) - complete! Even including the styrofoam $5.98

This is the first CIB NES game I think I've found in the wild in 10 years, and I'm totally serious.

Got in the mail today, via ebay:

Tengen Tetris (NES) - CIB, mint condition, including slipcover and poster. In fact, the box still has the original shrinkwrap around it! $40 for it all...not exactly mindblowing, but I've seen plenty of cart-only copies locally for more than that.

At the Movie Trading Company store in Ft. Worth, I bought Japanese imports of Phantasy Star Online ($6.99, complete with the Sonic The Trial disc and manuals/flyers) and Airforce Delta ($12.99). I also picked up the Dreamcast extension cable for $2.99.

That Airforce Delta has been sitting up there for the longest time, but I thought that more local folks might pick it up. I bought them just because I'm still angry that the dumpy shop with the UK Dreamcast imports basically won't sell them to me because they can't find eBay auctions of those games to set their price at. Quick bi-weekly stop into a (different) GameStop (almost each time) while I was out running some errands, turned out great.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2010-03-12(01).jpg

PS2 - Ephemeral Fantasia (complete) ($2.99)
PS2 - Jurassic Park Operation Genesis (complete) ($29.99)
PS2 - MotoGP (complete) ($3.99)

The stores always seem to have a couple new things, which is why I pop in - to pick up cheap PS2 games while I can. I've always preferred the first MotoGP game, simply because Gun Koma from Bari Bari Densetsu is unlockable. Ephemeral Fantasia is something I remember a friend enjoying back when it came out. However the real find is an absolutely mint copy of Jurassic Park Operation Genesis. Way more than I've spent on a PS2 game in a long time but I've been looking for it for quite awhile.

The Rocketeer The Complete Adventures Deluxe is a belated Valentine's Day gift from my girlfriend, as it has been on backorder for quite some time. Appears that it came back into stock for a couple days, sold out again, and is no longer listed as available. The book is quite simply a beautiful celebration of Dave Stevens' definitive work, with over 100 additional pages over the regular Complete Adventures release. Includes lots of Stevens' personal notes, early artwork, sketches, layouts, etc.

Went to a Goodwill I haven't been to in a while, and found a Super Joy III. This thing is actually pretty cool.

The $3.00 was worth it just because of the song it plays on the menu: an 8-bit version of "Do Wah Diddy Diddy". LOL

Also got Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay Developers Cut for $6. It's the CD version, I'm installing it now. :)

Like I said, that Airforce Delta has been in that store for over a year until I broke down and bought it, and the PSO was a total surprise. That one was a cool find. I've pretty much bought almost all the Dreamcast games I've ever been interested in, so now imports are how I might keep adding to the ol' collection. It's not all that easy to find them in the wild, so I don't think I'll build up my Japanese game collection too quickly.

I got a few small things at sales today...

Half Life Adrenaline Pack, Black & White, and some game 3 pack that includes Cleopatra and Pharoah for $1 a piece.

A boxed copy of King's Quest VIII (Mask of Eternity) for $2. I already have a jewel cased copy, but I'm a sucker for both King's Quest and boxed PC games.

And finally a stack of NES game manuals and an empty Game Gear box with the papers (NHL 95) for $1. This lot has 5-6 manuals for games, most of it is common stuff, and nothing interesting.

Finding out that the people at the sale that I got the NES manuals sold the system and games 5 minutes before I arrived.... Priceless.

Yesterday I stopped at a small-town game store going out of business and found:

Castlevania (NES) - CIB. Aside from a small sticker on top of the box, everything was pristine. It barely looks like it had been touched.

Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) - CIB. It was the All-Stars box and the All-Stars manual, but when I looked at the cartridge, it was the Super Mario All-Stars+Super Mario World game! I thought that was only available as a pack-in with the SNES? Eh, whatever...

Tiny Toons Buster's Hidden Treasure (Genesis) - CIB. I've never played it before, so I was curious.

Everything in this store is 30% off, but the owner's prices are kinda high to begin with (for example, no game is under $10, regardless of how common and/or barebones it is). I ended up paying $40 altogether for everything, but I really wanted the boxed Castlevania and All-Stars so I didn't care. But, that's gamer's logic for you! :D There are tons of other games and crap (including a boxed NES and a boxed 32X) laying around at this place, so I'll definitely stop back there if I'm in that area again.

Serious? I knew I should have grabbed them for you when I got the rest of them. The kid wouldn't have known a thing and may not have even bumped the price on me. Sorry about that!

As for my find for the weekend:

http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv51/98pacecar/2010_02_finds/IMG_1421.jpg

Total cost: $Free!

The computer itself may be a lost cause. Looks like it sat in coke for way too long, but it does power up. I may scrap the case and keyboard and just keep the mobo as a spare. Lots of "self labelled" disks, but many I never had before. Will be fun to go through all of them and see what's there. Mostly games, but a few disks of demos and graphics.

My parents were nice enough to take me out game shopping to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of my birth. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Well anyway here's just a rundown of what I got:

Dr. Mario (NES) CIB - $3.99 (box is a bit worn on the back, but still looks good)
Samba De Amigo (Wii) New - $5 (Toys R US was overstocked)
Wario Land (GB) - $3.99 (Even got a nice little case)
Magic Carpet (Saturn) CIB - $5.99 (box is broken like many boxes)

I looked up Magic Carpet and it seemed like it was a Saturn cult classic. Th e other games I bought because I had interest in them.

I also ran across a Panasonic 3D for $80, Turbografx 16 for $80, and an Atari 7800 for $50 in one game store, but I wasn't wanting to spend that much. I found it a bit odd that the store put Turbografx 16 CDs on top of the Turbografx though. it was just a plain console without the add-on. If it was the duo for that price I would have probably jumped.

I didn't even know it was released on VHS! That gives me something extra to look out for. Been trying to get into the series, but the method that shall not be named here only produces low-quality videos.

Loose SNES Console with a "Non Tested" sticker on it for $2. Cleaned up all the dirt off of it and it works like a charm (I had an extra AC adapter, RF switch, and controller).

What's up with that super mario world? is it just a relabel, pirate, or proto cart?

Serious? I knew I should have grabbed them for you when I got the rest of them. The kid wouldn't have known a thing and may not have even bumped the price on me. Sorry about that!

Yeah, I wish you'd have bought them for me too. Ah well. Speaking of imports, that thrift I directed you to in Lewisville with the UK PS1 sports games seem to have marked them up since the last time I was there, a couple of the games were $10.99! Too bad they don't understand that nobody's going to pay that much for eleven year old games that won't play in any Playstation consoles sold in this country. I'm amazed I bought the two I have for less than $5 each.

It's so nice to still see a few Amigas floating around out there. I hope you can revive it.

Is it the first or second edition? If it is first, then you can always try out the infamous Hot coffee mod.

Where in WI is the store? I think I might want to take a look.

The store is called Planet X and it's up in downtown Grafton. The owner has some weird hours though; it's only open from 3p-630p mon-fri, I believe.

Pretty decent day at the electronics flea market. First one of the year so the turnout isn't great but that's mainly because of the still colder weather. There was one seller that was a bit of a bitch, stashing aside stuff people would find in her boxes (of otherwise junk). I mean, if you don't want to sell play it cool, ask a crazy high price and once the item is left behind, then put it back in your car. Anyway...

With the cold morning people set up much later than the usual 5am, and the few that were ready to go didn't have as much traffic since it was too early to carry stuff around for most. LaserDiscs are pretty common but one seller had a pretty non-standard assortment at $2.00 each, and I couldn't help but go through them all.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2010-03-13(01).jpg

The Wizard ($2.00)
Magic Knight Rayearth volume 2 (Hong Kong) ($2.00)

I couldn't pass these two up. The Wizard on LaserDisc - how could I not. I have terrible luck with LD players so I don't have one at present, no big deal though.

Digging through a box I found some NES games, $3.00 each. No two for $5.00, no four for $10.00 - hell, no matter how I tried to round the cost, he always made it odd again (four for $11.00). So I picked out three and stuck him with a twenty to break for me. Two games I don't have and TMNT III doesn't show up that often in the wild, I'm sure my brother would like it.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2010-03-13(02).jpg

NES - Caveman Games (loose) ($3.00)
NES - Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates (loose) ($3.00)
NES - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project (loose) ($3.00)

A guy had a bunch of Formula 1, F3 and Formula Ford VHS tapes so we got to talking about open wheel racing. He said he bought a pretty big lot of tapes off eBay and has been selling them as he watches them. I got to talking about the early to mid 1990's (my favorite era in the sport) and he dug a couple other tapes out of the not yet watched box. I ended up buying them for $1.00 each. One is the 1994 Formula 1 recap and the other is behind the scenes of the off seasons in the 1990's.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2010-03-13(03).jpg

A few complete Saturn games for $10.00 (down from $15.00). Nothing spectacular, I really just wanted the copy of NiGHTS. I have to decide if I want to get rid of this standalone full size copy, or sell my boxed jewel case / 3D control pad version instead. Anyone interested in either should PM me.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2010-03-13(04).jpg

Lastly, on the way out I picked up a loose Model 2 Saturn with a copy of Astal in it for $5.00. The system works fine, just needed a bit of cleaning up. If anything the disc clamp is a little stiff (have to solidly press down on the inner ring of the CD to get it to click down) but it's smoothing out. I'll more than likely USA/JPN (possibly USA/JPN/EUR) mod it and sell it or trade it for a TurboGrafx-16. I miss having one.

Most everything will be up for sale and while it wasn't a standout day, still was a nice morning to be out there again.

Two Crude Dudes (Gen, complete) 1.99 at Goodwill. Also saw a sealed copy of Star Trek TNG (NES) at a different Goodwill but they wanted over 60 bucks for it. Granted, it's an R5, but yeesh.

I did the flea market this morning.

Got a pair of Sharper Image wireless speakers with one adapter, they're going to eBay. $5 for the pair

I also got Super Battletank 2 (SNES) and Samurai Shodown (SNES) for a buck a pop.

Meh, video game stuff was sparse today at the flea.

It was on sale for $30, marked down from it's original price of $80. I almost passed it up since I already have the 360 version but it was the last one they had so I splurged a little bit :)
