... That... can't be legal. D:
People infringing copyrights... in China? Zounds!
Seriously, that's pretty dang cheap for a sign like that. It looks like it's just an etched silkscreen-style pattern on a chunk of glass with what seems to be a fishtank light illuminating it. Although I've always wondered about the practicality of hanging it down from the light like that rather than using the light as a base for the glass. Then it could be displayed on top of a shelf or cabinet.

I'm pretty surprised at the shipping cost, too. $20? Damn, I don't think you could ship that from within the US of A for THAT cheap.

If it's illegal, tell the people on Etsy selling stuffed Mario dolls (http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_query=mario+doll&search_type=handmade). Making something new out of something copyrighted is going to be a weird legal issue in the coming years, and it could go either way.
You can ship from China on the cheap, but I'm not sure if it's the right way to ship. When I bought my replacement power switch for my DS Lite, it shipped from China and the total was under $2. For the item and shipping. When I got it, the customs sticker was marked "gift," so I'm not sure if they charge differently for commercial shipping.

Lol, it's not even made of glass. It's a clear thick plastic with whatever logo "carved" (or etched I guess) into it. The area of the sign that's not supposed to glow is painted black on the back for good measure.
Like I said I have an "Atari Games" one with the Atari logo on it as well, and it's not that bad a sign. Just btw, I paid $10 for mine and I'm happy with it. It's just one of those things that'll look neat in a game room.
And anyways, on the topic of "March finds" I did the lot sale today. I found some disc only PSX games: Yu Gi Oh, Gunslinger: The Jesse James Story, and Small Soldiers for $0.50 a piece. The weather looks like it's going to be real nice this weekend so I'm expecting a good amount of garage sales tomorrow and Saturday, as well as a nice day to take a trip to the flea market on Sunday. My fingers are crossed! Please let me find a 3DO or Neo-Geo AES or something awesome! It's about time for a cool find for me!

Well, I found some interesting stuff today while browsing through my local thrift stores.
Seiken Densetsu 3 for $4.99 (Loose) - I rarely see SFC games out here, much less good ones. Now I just have to decide whether to mod my SNES, or just continue playing the fan-translation.
Sega Pico System w/ 5 boxed games $25.00 - I bought this purely out of curiosity. The system itself is loose, but I did find the operations manual tucked in one on the game boxes. The games I got with it are: Tails & the Music Maker, Mickey's Blast to the Past, Magic Crayons, A Year at Pooh Corner, and Richard Scarry's Huckle & Lowly's Busiest Day Ever.
Oh, and I picked up a couple of "less interesting" things as well:
The Legendary Starfy for $25.00 (Used, CIB)
Spot Goes to Hollywood for $4.99 (Used, Box & Cart only)
Nintendo Power Pokemon Special Edition Guide for $0.99 (Used)

Picked up a few things at a Church Bazaar this morning. I got a sealed disk of Adobe Photoshop 5.0 Limited Edition for $.50 and was wondering if anyone knew how to tell if it is for PC or Mac? I also got an old Toshiba Laptop computer with bag for $2. I mostly bought it for the bag, which is a good thing since the computer didn't come with an AC adapter. The last thing that I got was 5 Neon Genesis Evangelion VHS tapes. These are English dubbed. And once again, as is usually the case when I find some Anime tapes/DVDs there is one missing in the string. In this case I have tapes labeled Genesis 0:1 - 0:4 and 0:6. I am assuming that there is a 0:5 somewhere out there that I didn't find. One other thing I noticed about 0:4 is that there is some writing on it is silver Sharpie. It says. "Hi Rafique! Asuka Strikes!" Underneath that is some sort of symbol. I am guessing that it may be Japanese for whoever voiced the role of Asuka since underneath that it says "Asuka" (Including the quotes). The tapes were $1 each.
Here are some pictures of the tape case:

The "symbol" could be the initials for Tiffany Grant, the voice actress for the English dub. The symbols kinda look like a cursive "T" and a "G", uppercase. I remember seeing Ms. Grant at the first Ohayocon in Cleveland, OH. Not a bad looking gal, she even had on an Asuka suit. :-P

On Monday I went to a Movie Trading Company and they had next to nothing, but I did spot a CIB copy of Phantasy Star III for the Genesis for $19.99. I thought it was a bit pricey so I said I'd check and come back later and they offered to hold it for me which was nice. After getting some feedback in the "what it's worth" section of DP all week, I decided to splurge and pick it up. I got a couple of surprises when I talked to the person holding the games for me. First, mine was still there, but also another game was set back for someone but they never came back for it.

I got the clerk to open the Dragon Force for me so I could see it and the manual and disc are in really nice (not perfect) shape but it's a really nice copy of a game I've never seen in person before. So, after debating for 15 minutes at the store, I went for it and picked up:
Dragon Force (Saturn) - complete $75
Phantasy Star III (Genesis) - complete $9.99
HUH?? The PSIII is marked at $19.99 but it rings up $9.99! Bonus! Not sure if I got a good deal on the DF, but I have 30 days to return it if I do some online research and find I paid too much, as long as I don't open it, that is.

Okay, thanks for the info. Not being an Anime expert I had no idea who or what it was written on there. Of course it would be nice to have all the tapes, but that is par for the course for me. A few weeks ago I picked up 3 Magic Knight Rayearth tapes, 2 of which are still sealed and of course they were tapes #1, 3, and 5.

Also, in case you were trying to find the rest of the series, they go up to 0:13; so you'd have to find 0:5 and 0:7-0:13. This series took me forever to collect back when they were only release on vhs. That's a cool find the the Asuka autograph, though!

I finally found a decent local deal! I found a Vectrex on Kijiji yesterday, and went to pick it up today. Apparently the woman I bought it from won it in a contest back in '82 or '83. It cost me $100 dollars, which I think is pretty awesome for what I got:
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y206/SPAZ_12/DSC02085Small.jpg
It came with five games: Star Trek, Beserk, Hyperchase, Starhawk, and Scramble. All of them have their overlays, except for Hyperchase, and three of them came in their boxes: Hyperchase, Starhawk, and Scramble. I've been wanting to get a Vectrex for a few years now, so I'm very exited that I finally found one.
Also, I got a free Variac two days ago. It's not exactly a gaming item, but once I verify that it's working correctly I can use it to run my Japanese systems at the proper 100V. That, and I got a SCSI CD-ROM drive, which I should be able to adapt for use with my Mac IIci.

Today:
Went to a local place that I hadn't been to before. Lots of piles of stuff everywhere in there, reminded me of some of the booths in an indoor flea market around here...
For $17 I got the following:
Game Gear
--
Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble (cart and case) - not a great game I think, but oh well.
SNES
--
Cybernator (cart only) - pretty good price for a great classic I think...
PSX
--
Bubsy 3D (no manual) - Just a few bucks for an infamous "classic"? As soon as I saw it I had to get it... and I've played level one now, and it's not too bad. Sure, it's no Mario 64, but it's not actually awful I think, for 1996... I'll have to play it more, but so far I'm a little bit pleasantly surprised. (The main negative is Bubsy's floaty, tank controls. It can kill you -- sliding off platforms into pits, etc. Oh well, I'm sure you get used to it...)
PC (both jewelcase only)
--
Sim Theme Park -- It's basically Theme Park 2, and Theme Park was awesome.
Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer - Yeah, the PC version of ... THAT game. That I've always kind of disliked on the N64 thanks to its crazy difficulty level. Why did I get this again... but somehow I couldn't resist. Oh well... we'll see if this version's any different.
Then I went to a Goodwill near there, and didn't see much, but there was one game there, that's probably the best game I got today... for $2...
PC
--
Heavy Gear -- with jewelcase, manual and quick reference card! Awesome, awesome stuff for a mech-sim classic... I will definitely need to play this game.
They also had a Microsoft Sidewinder USB Force Feedback Wheel, but it was $8 with no power supply and it does require one, so after considering it for a while I ended up not getting it. I imagine finding one of those power supplies would be a real pain... I could go back and get it if it's really worth it and the power supplies are somehow available though, it did have both the wheel part and the pedals (and the cord that connects the two).

It's been a pretty good week alot better than last week atleast.
On Tuesday I got a bag with 12 N64 games at my local thrift store for free. I already had most of them but I got 4 out of the bag that I didn't have so that's ok at the same store I also got a copy of Doom II for pc for $3.
On Wednesday I went to the Goodwill anf found a copy of the Gears of War soundtrack for $3. I don't like paying $3 for a music cd but it's not to often that I find a game soundtrack around here.
Today I went to Gamestop for their 50% off "new" games sale and got for the PS3 Blazblue: Calamity Trigger for $20 and Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice also for $20. also while I was there I noticed they had the Wii demo disc for Monster Hunter 3 so I picked that up to.

Pokemon Pearl
Lost in Blue 2
Pokemon Ranger
Final Fantasy III
Lunar Dragon Song
Nintendo DS Box
Hoshigami Remix
PS2 Box and Manual
Chaos Legion
Xenosaga Episode III
Final Fantasy XII
Grandia II
Grandia III
Radiata Stories
Valkyrie Profile 2 Slimeria
Wild Arms 4
Phantasy Star Universe
Kingdom Hearts
Magna Carta Tears of Blood
Ever Grace
Yu Yu Yakusho Ghostfiles Dark Tournament
Future Tactics - The Uprising
NanoBreaker
PS2 Box
Prince of Persia Warrior Within
La Purcelle Tactics
Legaia 2
Zone of the Enders - The 2nd Runner
Some of the cases are kind of trashed, but the inserts are okay for the most part. They were asking $.50 each and I got the whole pile for $8.
Most of these will wind up being posted for sale in the orphanage since I don't really need any of them.

Yesterday:
A Saturn gamepad (second model), looks okay but has some... rust in the plug? It's not shiny but I think I can clean it - $1
D (Saturn, discs only) - $2
I found that copy of D at a booth with tons of old PC games. They had several Saturn games too but most were sports so I left them behind. I did get ticked off because I found a ton of random Sega CD and Saturn games... loose. In a box. And they were scratched to hell. I would've taken them if they were in good shape...
I dunno what I'm doing with D. I mean, I already have the game. Sealed. :p
Today:
I went back to that booth where I found D and picked up:
Microsoft Picture It! Premium - $2
Sonic 3D Blast (disc only) - $1
Lost Eden (PC, disc + manual in jewel case) - $1
The Jongg CD - A CD with tons of Moraffware Mahjong variants, I hope they're the full versions :P

Rare enough I can't find a listing on ebay to see how I did.
(R7, though so is Ardy Lightfoot and that was pretty easy to find on amazon/ebay)
Along with Mr. Do! SNES for $25 (probably a few bucks more than I could've spent on ebay) and Gargoyle's Quest II for NES for $10 (just what the guide says).

I actually want to sell the sealed game so I can buy a minty opened game. :p
Edit: Forgot to mention today's weird finds -- European Mega Drive games.
Yes, European games.
I found Shaq Fu, a James Pond game, a Konami basketball game, and a bunch of other titles that were released stateside. There were two German VHS tapes in the same pile so that was weird. I didn't buy any games because most were missing the manual (except for Pitfall. That thing had a HUGE manual) and I wasn't sure if they would work on my NTSC system. :(

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (CIB) - $4.50
Xbox:
Xbox (loose) - $40
As for the story:
The Xbox was for a friend for her birthday. I stopped by The Hobby Spot, a local hobby store that sometimes stocks video games, to see if they had one since I couldn't make it to a local retro store. It turns out the owner recently purchased the stock of a few stores that went out of business. His store is becoming a dealer store for the hobby parts and he's starting a side business with the video game stock. I couldn't believe what he had in his store - NES Deluxe Set, 2 NES Action Sets, an NES Power Set, 2 Atari 5200s, and a Game.com, all CIB. He also had a ton of Atari 5200, Atari 2600 and NES games CIB. I noticed he had some games that were VGA graded, which is where the interesting part comes in:
We had a decent, long discussion about VGA grading. I asked why he had the games graded and his opinion on the whole deal. He said that the grading process only cost him ~$10 per game. They don't grade the contents of the game, but instead grade the seal itself. He had his sealed games graded for a really good reason though - people like to handle the sealed games, and often times can damage the seal. He doesn't raise his prices for VGA graded games, as his copy of Super Mario Bros. 2 was $500 before the grading and $500 afterwards. He knows that there is a small market for the graded games, but they'll eventually sell.
...I also asked what the difference would be if I opened the box, replaced it with a rock, and resealed it properly. He told me that they have tools to determine the relative age of the plastic, so I would need to seal it with plastic from that year or they would be able to determine the difference. That's the first time I've heard that from anyone when asking about VGA. Smart guy.
After the discussion, we talked about his plans for the store and what he wants to do. He plans to pick up any oddball items he can get, including anything in complete or mint condition 8-bit or older, odd systems or kiosks. He plans to get a ton of system displays and kiosks within the next 6 months, so he has me looking around for kiosks and he'll give me a finder's fee for anything I can get for him. He's getting a new Nintendo sign in next week (World of Nintendo sign), so I'll eventually pick some of his stuff up.
I know I paid extra on the Atari 5200 items at his store, but the games were oddball games that I never see CIB. I also always spend more money for finding games in the wild because they come with a story, and it also builds rapport with the store owners. I get amazing deals now with store owners that I regularly deal with because they know I'm always willing to spend extra money if they cut me a deal :)
EDIT: As for the friend, she loved the Xbox because she can finally play Thief on it :)
EDIT EDIT: Pictures will come tomorrow - cat fell asleep on the pile of games.

Picked up a couple things at the flea market this morning. From one dealer I got Folklore CIB for the PS3 for $12 and from another I picked up a game.com Pocket Pro. It is missing the stylus and had 3 loose games with it. They are Batman & Robin, Mortal Kombat Triolgy, and Resident Evil 2. That package was $10. I was hoping for a better day, but it is still too cold.

I stopped by the local flea to look for stuff.
I went by a booth and got RC Pro Am (NES) and Faxanadu (NES) for $1 a piece. You can't go wrong on NES games for that price, unless they're just crappy sports ones. I already have both, but the price is nice and they're both great games.
A stopped by another booth and got a little pile of stuff, the guy had a large tub of Genesis and NES stuff. He wanted $5 a game and was very firm. I dug through it and found River City Ransom and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. I piled up my stuff and added all together. It was $33 worth. I asked the guy if he'd do $30 even for it all and he accepted. The lot included a Jeep car stereo, a cast aluminum cookie mold, a vintage 70s LED ladies watch, a 10K gold ring with 3 small diamonds in it (which he wanted $20 for), the 2 NES games.
The ring is worth $50 EASY, the watch perhaps $10, the Jeep stereo $20, and the mold is also worth $20 (long story why it has that value). So $30 was not a bad price for the whole lot.
I was a bit adventurous today. I spent $1 on a CD called "The Banjos that Destroyed the World: The Fastest 5-String Banjo Instrumentals of All Time". Talk about a Kitsune Sniper buy. Is it crazy that I like this music? It reminds me of Six Flags LOL.
Passed on an Atari 2600, with hookups, 2 controllers, and 6 commons. Seller said that he wanted $40 and immediately told me that price was because that guy on Pawn Stars gave $100 for one.
/me sighs.
btw, all the NES games I got today, except River City Ransom, are going to eBay or even FS/FT if someone here wants them.

Oh yea Saturday at the Flea Market .. I found this Blue Label PITFALL ATARI 2600 Cart within a bunch of other 2600 games...$2.00
The cool thing to me is that the games were in an antique furniture sellers items..A place I'd never look,I was actually looking at the old retro 80s coffie tables when I spotted the carts..hidden.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/Chris1/TSMMR/pitfallBlueLable.jpg
It's mint though the pic looks like crap..
I'd pick up every 2600 cart I could find if it was like a quarter but 2-5 for each loose game is just not my price range...I've actually built another 2600 collection just buying carts here and there...and digging out stuff rom storage.
This game gets hung up in a baggie in the closet though on display..It's unique.

Nice - the re-release blue cartridge. I have a few of those types of carts, but not the Pitfall cartridge. Interesting find at an antique furniture place :)

I been finding good Atari and NES Stuff at Antique malls. Most people there do not know the value of the games or systems and they usually underprice them. I am usually buying Atari 2600's for $15 a piece.

My finds, although weak, I feel like listing them anyway.
- Super Mario Sunshine (Gamecube. Disc only in good shape): $2.50
Today is the last day of the local Movie Gallery's liquidation sale, so I went back to see what was left. With the DVDs, there was still some decent stuff to be had at rock-bottom prices, while the games had been picked clean of anything remotely worthwhile...although, one copy of Super Mario Sunshine fell through the cracks due to it's name only being printed on the spine (Which caused everyone to overlook it), so I scooped it up. Even though it's disc only, it's hard to argue with getting it for $2.50 when it still costs $15+ elsewhere.
Non-gaming finds:
- Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo: Volume 2 (DVD. In original case, in near mint condition): $1
- Pokémon Adventures: Volume 2 (Manga. New): $8
The Bobobo DVD was from Movie Gallery. The show is a guilty pleasure of mine (I watched it when it still came on Cartoon Network, circa 2006. In my opinion, it's so bad it's good); I couldn't pass it up for $1.
Also, the Pokémon manga was found during a trip out of town yesterday. I had been trying to find Volume 2 for a while...now, once I have a bit more money, I'll try and catch back up (Of course, I've read it all up to the early chapters of volume 8 via fan translations, so I could just jump in on the most recently released volume (Which is Volume 5, last I checked) and be able to go with it from there)

I know I see blue label demon attacks quite frequently. Not sure about that rarity list. People that have brought it up on Atariage all swear that skiing is the hardest one to find.

Yeah the Ultra N64 is a cart converter. I really didn't want to go to the trouble of modding my original system, so I decided on that, which I paid $20.00 for. I paid about $30.00 for each game, which may be a lot but I never find these in the wild only on ebay. So I decided to pick them up since they were in very good condition and had all inserts and packaging. Starfox 64 is missing the Rumble Pak, but they threw one in for me.
