I was wondering if an adapter exists to use TG-16 pads on a PC-Engine. I've been looking around for a 8-pin DIN to mini DIN adapter, but have so far come up empty handed.

Yes, there are converter cables that allow you to use TG-16 pads with a Turbo Duo. I'm pretty sure that the Turbo Duo and PC-Engine used the same type of controller connectors so a TG-16 controller with converter should also work with the PC-Engine.

yep yep. as i said on the other forum (:)), you can get a cable, or hack up your own either by chopping connector off the bad controller and putting on the good one, or by getting the female big din, and male mini din and wiring one up.

yes they make them. They are kinda tough to find. I got one CIB on Ebay and it cost me $37. Just keep your eyes open.

I swapped the guts out from one controller to another and it worked just fine, if you prefer the looks of the TG-16 controller in your hand, or just want that turbo button.

Keep in mind that there are a few different revisions on the internals of the controllers, some swap over easily, some will need slight modification to work.

Sometimes you can even swap out just the cable and it'll work fine. I did it to an Avenue Pad 6 and it works great on my TG-16. Except now I have a TurboPad that doesn't work on my system...

You could have got a bunch of duo pads and just pulled the cables out lol.
