I am trying to decide if I should keep a lot of scrap boxes and packaging I have laying around. I intend to keep all actual game boxes. I am talking about boxes for accessories mostly, and perhaps newer consoles. I have so many boxes and blister packages that I saved knowing that they will help the resale value of the items I bought, but it has gotten a bit too ridiculous. Many of these are for third party accessories, but I still think "video game collectibles" and keep them.

So, what are your philosophies regarding this. What do you keep and what do you toss?

Right now I am thinking of keeping anything older than the PS2, which is why I am asking on the Modern Gaming board. I am thinking right now that I should probably throw away all third party boxes unless especially notable for some reason, and keep most of the first party stuff. But maybe I should get rid of all "blister packages".

That is my dilemma.

Personally, I keep anything first-party or stuff that comes in an actual box. Blister packs and the like go in the trash.

I pretty much keep everything, or offer spare boxes up for trade. Someone will want them eventually.

I keep the packaging stashed away in sealed boxes in another room, away from moisture and sunlight. Eventually I will offer all of it to some hardcore collector through a craig's list ad.

I don't care much about it, but I also know once I throw it away, it's gone forever.

Blister packages, once opened, are almost worthless. I say toss the blister packages if they've been opened unless they're in pristine condition and keep the boxes. The boxes are always worth something to someone.

I keep all my system boxes. I sometimes keep accessory boxes if they're cardboard, but not always. I never even consider keeping blister pack stuff, but I sometimes might keep the cardboard insert from one once in a while. Mostly end up throwing it out later though.

For anything newer, it's the trash bin. Anything "older & collectible", I'll hang on to.

I keep all my boxes except for blister boxes. Well, I do keep blister boxes if the item is still sealed(obviously) but once it's opened it's pretty much not worth having, even for a resale. I do understand the feeling of being overwhelmed by so many boxes. I keep having to buy new shelves to fit all my new games but now I'm running out of space to put new shelves. I also keep my console boxes but most of those sit on top of each shelf.
