As was foretold (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/11/ars-mole-splinter-cell-conviction-final-fantasy-xiii-getting/), Microsoft has announced (http://majornelson.com/archive/2010/03/02/xbox-360-splinter-cell-conviction-special-edition-bundle-coming-april-2010.aspx) a special Splinter Cell: Conviction (http://joystiq.com/tag/splinter-cell-conviction) Xbox 360 bundle set to arrive this April in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The bundle will retail for $399 and will include two controllers, a standard edition copy of Splinter Cell: Conviction and a 250GB hard drive. We should remind readers that, unlike the one offered in the Final Fantasy XIII bundle (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/11/final-fantasy-xiii-special-edition-xbox-360-bundle-includes-250g/), the second controller will actually be useful in Splinter Cell: Conviction, thanks to its split-screen co-op modes (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/26/splinter-cell-conviction-videos-feature-co-operative-espionage/).

Check out hi-res images of the bundle in the gallery below.

These keep getting worse and worse...

Halo 3 (Exclusive shell/controller/HDcase, no game)
Resident Evil (Exclusive Shell + red controller)
CoD:MW2 (Exclusive Shell, Exclusive HDDsize)
FF XIII (exclusive engraving on standard HDD + White 360 and regular edition game)
Splinter Cell (regular black case, regular black controllers, regular (big) HDD and regular game).

Personally, the CoD:MW2 bundle has been the best yet. The shell was interesting, it gave us a larger HDD, and it came with a game.

- Halo 3 shell was "okay", but it was part of the faulty batch that Microsoft originally had, so I would only want one for display or my collection.
- I own the RE bundle, and while I'm not complaining, I really wish they would've done a nice design on the shell or controller, or at least a faceplate.
- I would be interested in purchasing the FFXIII bundle, except that it looks exactly like a Pro with a larger HDD and the only identifying mark is the HDD "engraving". At that point, I'll just pick up the HDD off eBay and put it on my Pro.
- Conviction bundle is just adding the game to an existing black Elite package with an extra controller and game, and tossing in the 250GB HDD. I'll just buy the 250GB HDD to toss onto a Black Elite.

If it came with a "NO RED RING OF DEATH...WE PROMISE!!!" sticker slapped across the front of the box, I'd get excited.

Seems the opposite to me, nice to not see ugly branding on the console and controllers like that 2 on the Modern Warfare 2 bundle.
