I'm getting an Atari Jaguar, but it has no hookups or cables. I have a RGB Cable for the Jag, so I'm covered there, but I need to get a power adapter and a controller. I think I can grab a controller off Ebay for a decent price, but where can I get a power adapter cheap?
Do any power adapters from other consoles work with it?
Can I get a universal one from Radio Shack that will work?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

A PAL Jaguar will work with a Megadrive/Master System/MegaCD/Neo Geo power supply, and I'm pretty sure a US one is the same.
Any universal adaptor should cover it aswell.

There's your PSU rating for it.
NES & Genesis 1 should work with it.

I was reading about one guy who had a friend who used an old NES power adapter on his Jag, and although it worked temporarily, it ended up frying his Jag over a several week period.
So I'm a little bit worried by that.
Has anybody used a Genesis 1 power adapter with their Jag for a long, long time?
Right now I'm using a Genesis 1 power adapter for my Turbo Grafx 16 and my Sega Genesis, so it's come in quite handy. If it works for the Jag long term too, that's sweet.

I think a Genny one is the same. I've used one. I'd stay away from an NES one. You can buy a Jag PS just as easily as a controller on the net .

I'm using a Genesis 1 adapter, but it isn't working. Maybe I got a dead unit, or it was damaged in transit.
I just got this system off a guy on ebay. First time I've got a busted unit.

I've used a Radio Schack PS sold as being for the "SEGA GENESIS" with my jaguar for a long time and everything is fine.

I've been playing around more with this Jaguar today, to see if I could get it to work.
Now I can get it to power up every single time, and the Jaguar logo comes on the screen, but then the screen goes Red.
I was reading a Jaguar FAQ on the net, and it says that if this happens, then it could be one of three problems. The most common one is that the contacts are dirty or dusty and need to be cleaned. I cleaned my Cybermorph contacts with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol, but no luck yet.
Should I clean the actual cartridge slot with a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol?
I don't want to screw this thing up further.

Use an old toothbrush with alcohol/ water on the cart slot. use veery little liquid, and dry it out with a credit card and strong paper towel. leave no bits of paper behind, or you problems could get worse.
Good Luck!
