I got a copy of mvs pulstar and its giving me some sound problems since the day I got it , so I figured that I needed to clean it. So in a attempt to fix it I went to a website called hardmvs.com and tried using their deep cleaning tutorial , and cleaned the cart inside out but it continued to give me the problem.

I might of thought the cart was a fake since it was giving me sound problems however I know that the cart is authenticate I checked it and its not a boot by using mvs masterlist. Then I got some advice from a user that its a grounding issue possibly. Im not familiar with that term but he told me it was a pin connection problem. Anyone know anything about fixing this kind of problem? Contacts and pins?

Have you tried the Tech forum over at neo-geo.com? There's also a Boot-or-not subforum where if you post the PCB pics, someone can verify if it's authentic.

It could be a broken trace or maybe one of the chips is bad. The Universe BIOS can tell if the checksum is good.

What type of sound problems?

Are you running on an MVS machine or AES through a converter?

You mentioned that you checked already, but do the PCB's look legit? Boots are notorious for having sound problems.

Yeah I checked with the list on neo-geo.com , the numbers match with the masterlist. To be honest I cleaned it so much for some reason its starting to work okay , I think it will continue to work but does lead to suspicion if it was a boot.
