Here is a video of my entire licensed NES collection. I did this video almost a year ago but I never posted here on Digital Press yet since I lost my password and crap like that. Anyways here it is now:

Excellent collection, nice job man.
NES was the bread and butter of console gaming mid-late 80s, nice to see it honored like that.

It is never done, but I have a liscensed NES set. About 500 of my games are complete. Obviously I only have a loose Stadium Events. It was a fun collection to acquire, and currently I am going on my 14th US set the Atari 7800.
Again, congrats on completing a large library of games, it is the road less traveled.

I went with a loose Tank Command, but it looks strange near an almost CIB set :). It was one third the price as well.

One of my goals is to eventually get every official licensed NES game. I recently passed the 500 mark. However, it might feel like there is a big empty hole in my life if I don't have any more NES games to buy after all these years. One thing is for sure though...I won't be getting Stadium Events any time soon, and by the time I am ready to get it, a loose copy could be going for over $5,000.

Yeah, I'm happy enough with my cart Stadium Events especially since I don't have to take on a second mortgage just for some cardboard and paper. 14 complete 7800 sets! That's cool and all but why would anyone need 14 copies of Scrapyard Dog?

If you took time to see my other posts here, you would find that I am trying to help and contribute to the gaming community. I have worked hard for the collection that I have amassed. Does that make me have an ego? Possibly it does, but I do not appreciate these personal attacks and would ask kindly for this forum user to be banned or to change his name. Again my congrats to starsoldier1 and his accomplishment and great video.

as it turns out, i did just that
all of these are from threads which do not ask specifically about your collection from the past month.
I wish you luck with your N64 collection. Like others have said, loose is not too bad. I am down to my final 6 manuals for a CIB collection.
I agree with the above lists, as I have an almost CIB N64 collection. 6 manuals away. Dang Clayfigthter Sculptors Cut manual....
Wow, I just feel pretty dang lucky having a bare cart.
I pursued the systems that I grew up with as for inspiration to seek out and find entire game collections. After completing my 14th Game Collection(Neo Geo Pocket US CIB), it has been one heck of a ride. My Genesis Collection took approximately 13 years to complete, but it was well worth it.
worst part is this is a thread about someone else's collection and you still just can't resist mentioning yours
but hey it's all about meeeeeeeeeeeeee yay meeeeeeeeee

What an odd troll.
You do realize that the nature of conversation is back and forth, right? One person shares something, another person shares something related, they find some common ground to build a conversation upon, and continue the cycle. If every topic around here had to keep it solely about the topic creator, it would be pretty damn boring to see every reply say "That's cool" or just bombard the person with endless questions.

This is exactly what I have tried to do, is to share common ground with folks and build conversation upon. Again, I probably could work on my ego if I was to be completely honest with myself. To have a someone go out of their way to attack me in this thread that is is just wrong nor does no do anything to promote and honor starsoldier1 accomplishments or carry the conversation in a positive direction. I am not going to worry though, I dont think I will have to worry about it for long :)

p.s. Swlovinst:
Nobody needs to "honor" you or the OP for spending a lot of money. Expecting not to be insulted outright, sure that's reasonable. Personally I hadn't noticed you had any complete collections before this, though it appears you were doing your best to inform me.
I would say I'd be more interested if the videos were about Starsoldier playing the games, but that would be a lie, too (but that's another story - worthwhile game plays take up too much time for too little payoff for me personally).
Wow Ed, I don't know how to take that comment haha.

It's a PUBLIC FORUM where people give and take OPINIONS. There is no rule of "thou shalt always rub nose in the crack of thine superiors." You can bring a cake and a pretty tablecloth to your collection thread, but as long as they aren't breaking the rules anybody can show up and play the drunk uncle passing out and pissing on the carpet. I didn't look to hijack the thread, but I certainly have the right of gently interjecting a contrary opinion. I wasn't looking for a battle, but I've been called out, so here we are. I hope you will respect my right to use the Forum in the future.
I also don't see how it's against the spirit of collecting to make people with clinical-strength collecting habits realize that there are other opinions on the idea that you become a great person by buying more stuff than most other people. There's a long-running and honorable disagreement between people who just want games to be available for low prices, and those who want to buy all the best remaining copies of games so that nobody else can ever play them again (and people like me who straddle both sides, especially depending on whether it's a buying or selling season). Hell, I tried collecting, and look where it's gotten me LOL At least I'm not saddled with a "full set" that I'll be looking frantically to sell at a huge loss down the road like so many collectors that have come here over the years.
Thanks dude, yeah I just wanted to share and thank Digital Press themselves for helping me on getting the collection there.

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying your games!

True. But most people are embarrassed for/by their drunk uncles. I'm of the opinion that unless the thread invites debate it's sort of dick to well... be a dick.

I once had a fairly large "full set" type collection myself, and I sold it for a pretty decent profit at the time. I collect to play now, but it is still really fun to try and collect a complete set if that is your mindset.
That just looked like a really awesome place to hang out to boot, with all that NES stuff adding decor.

It wasn't easy buying a NES game for my collection I knew would be absolutely horrible like Color A Dinosaur, Taboo, Total Recall, Home Alone, and more but if I wanted a complete set I had to do it. Besides bad games are easier to make fun of in reviews or when friends come over. The NES and Virtual Boy are the only complete collections I have so I only buy games I wanna play too for other machines like you.

I think the question is what each collector gets out of his or her collection. I believe that in the right market, I can sell my collections for a profit.
Regarding my own collecting habits, my collection is not about the items themselves but rather the experiences I have while searching for them. I rarely purchase the games from the internets and instead choose to make it all about the search (for instance I just finished my "Worlds of Power" collection after 4 years of searching every book store/thrift store I entered). Every collector has a bit of an ego but I'd hope it's generally more about sharing something you're proud of (an accomplishment of sorts) rather than a "hey look at me, I'm better than you because I have more stuff" kind of thing.
Back to the original topic though, congrats! That collection is awesome! I'm about 50 carts away from my complete set but I have a hunch that the final games will give me quite a bit of trouble :)

Yeah, I wanted to complete my collection because of my ego's desire to collect em all so to speak. Just seeing a group of collectibles together is a cool feeling. When I was down to my last 100 or so games I needed to hunt them down because many of them weren't released in my area.

It was August 8, 2006. I got the final game I needed for my collection: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade UBI edition. Terrible game but I didn't care. I was done and now I could relax and play em all! My top three NES games are Legend of Zelda, Super Mario 3, and The Guardian Legend.

Isn't it funny how the last game you need is often the last one you would have expected? When I finished off my N64 collection my last title was V-Rally 99. What a terrible game to have come last!
I don't believe in ROMs so it's nice to hear about a game from someone and just run over to the shelf in and pop it in
