I went into Gamestop yesterday and they had many copies of Monster Hunter Tri demo that they were giving out. The demo comes with a map of controls for each class. This is a heads up to demo collectors, and people that want to check out the game early.

Essentially the game demo lets you check out the different classes in the game and play a timed amount of time.

This is easily my most anticipated game this year, and one that I am getting day one.

I was already aware of this one, but thanks for the heads up regardless. As the first real giveaway Wii demo disc (without purchase of anything else at least) in North America, it's a great, free and easy addition to anyone's collection!

Exactly. Get to play the game early and get a demo disk.

The control map that is included is pretty cool. Also the black and white disk is pretty neat as well.

I don't own a Wii but I'll ask if I can get one.

My local GS won't give one unless I preorder the game.

Assholes.

Muramasa was an odd one. A limited number were made for a small retail chain,
but I'm not sure if they were even intended to be given away for free, free with preorder, or if they were supposed to be used in the in-store interactive
displays. But I've heard of them turning up in a "free take one" box at the same chain.

What chain? Haven't seen that one (not like I get out much though)...

That's how I got my Soul Calibur 2 demo a while back...

I honestly can't remember the name. I think it's an indie chain, definitely not Gamestop/EB or Game Crazy.

I'm pretty sure the Gamecube Soul Calibur demo disc was part of a Namco launch kit with hopes of stores removing the official Multi-Game Demo Disc & replacing it. Its cool that some stores gave it away instead or after it was finished being displayed.

Gamestop is only supposed to be giving them away with the pre order of the game, in addition to pre ordering it you also receive 500 Wii points for free when you pick the game up. Not a bad deal.

That would be Play N Trade ;) I only ever saw the Muramasa demo at one of my PnT stores and that was a while ago

How does Monster Hunter Tri Play like? I'm assuming you umm hunt monsters, but anymore detail would be nice(atleast It's from Capcom, so it can't be too bad)?

Is it Gamestop only? Does EB have them too?

What is the point of giving away a demo of a game when you already pre-ordered the game itself?

I hate that, personally rather have a poster, key chain, some that i can grasp. I dont like the pre-order get a "cool gun" or in game items. Don't take me wrong if its free without pre-order than thats great, but if not.....

The Gamestops around me have some actual hardcore gamers and cool people working at them. Both management and employees know their classic and current games very well(I was impressed) Needless to say that around here they are just giving out the game demo(which I do belive is a Gamestop exlusive) to anyone that wants one. For all the things that Gamestop has and does wrong, it is nice to see some things are still done right sometimes.

I had to call my local GameStop and send them a link to Capcom's official site saying the demos are free to anyone, no preorder required. And I had to call GameStop's main office in Texas before I could get my local GameStop to give me a demo. This demo is a big part of Capcom's advertising of this game. The point of the demo is to try the game, and if you like it, you can pre-order it. They are trying very hard to get their games to sell on Wii, but GameStop is ruining it.
