Black Box Rad Racer Manual

I've been collecting black box games for a while now. I've never heard of Rad Racer coming in a black box. Then I bought a stack of manuals and found this in them. Can someone let me know what I have? Was Rad Racer ever released in a black box?

I don't believe so...it's just a manual variation AFAIK. I had a black one like that at one point.

I don't think I've owned any other Rad Racer manual than that one. What does the other one look like? Does it just look like the box?

I just came across the black variant a few days ago. Prior to that every other manual I've ever owned has been gray. I was surprised to see it in black actually as I'd never known that there was a variant.

I'd imagine the game was supposed to be a black box release originally.

I remember searching all the local Funcolands back in the 90's looking for a black cart version (that it seems never existed).

I guess the manual isn't worth much then? 1$? If anyone else has any more history to share about it i'd love to hear it.

Yeah, not worth much (maybe $3 for a mint one), though it is the first printing of the manual. I have one around here somewhere, I think (dunno what I did with it).
