Yup, this is the birthday of the Father of Video Games, the one and only: Ralph. H. Baer!
For those who doesn't know, he was born of March 8th 1922, so do the maths if you
want to find his age. He's the inventor of the very first VIDEO GAME and if you don't
beleive me, check out the US Patent #3,728,480 as proof.
So Happy Birthday M. Baer!!! Long live the father of Video Games!! ;)

First video game is highly debatable. There are other, older games that could fit the bill.
Ralph Baer definitively made the first home video game console. Of that there is no debate, at least. Ralph Baer was a neat guy, but too many of his fans have unnecessary hatred for Nolan Bushnell.

Perhaps with good reason. Read my article in the April 2009 issue of Edge.
BTW - I just called Ralph and wished him a happy birthday. If I didn't know him, I would never thought I was talking to someone 88 years old. He is so with it.
