I began the hunt on Friday.

Scroll to the bottom for the quick and dirty :)

A hunt that was to become a wonderful adventure.

The trail of the hunt began early last week, when I stumbled upon a large cache of Atari 2600 games at my local Salvation Army. I was missing only 1 (Tron Deadly Discs) from the many dozens, and so I purchased it (for a paltry .49 cents)

Alas, the scent of my prey was upon my nose, and what did I do, but return the next possible day I could, to find a number of colecovision games hiding in the very same wilds as those tricky atari 2600 games. Then, spying through the gates of the sorting area, I spotted 2 Namco Guncon's sitting in the top of a box! I quickly caught them, with the assistance of the sorter, but he refused to show me what was left in the box. And so I left, with 2 guns, happy. (1.99 each) And all was well.

Until friday, when I just knew there was something out there. I could *feel* it, under my skin, crawling, slithering, calling out to me. I quickly jumped into my car and sped across town to await the opening of Value Village. Lo and behold, there were *10* Intellivision games, boxed, in the back! A quick swipe and they were mine. (1.99 each)

Yet, there was still something in the air, and on my way home, I chanced a visit to the local swap'n'shop, to find 5 boxed nes games, including 2 color dreams carts! (3.00 ea)

Happy, I succumbed to sleep, waking late in the afternoon on Saturday, I again ventured to the very same Salvation Army mentioned above, to find a complete copy of California Games for master system. Sadly, there was also the shell of an Enduro racer. Speaking again with the sorter, he mentioned that there had been a bunch not hours before. (0.99) I went home feeling somewhat defeated, yet hopeful for another day of hunting.

Today, I made a quick trip out to Value Village again, nothing. Goodwill, nothing. Stopped at Cash Converters and picked up 3 loose Atari 2600 games. (0.99 each)

Monday 9 Sept:
Tron Deadly Discs - 0.49

Thursday 12 Sept:
2 Namco GunCon's - 1.99 each

Friday 13 Sept:
10 Intellivision games boxed:
Astrosmash, Boxing, LV Poker & Blackjack(x2), NFL Football, Snafu, Space Battle, Space Hawk, Skiing, Utopia - 1.99 each.
5 NES games boxed:
Captain Comic, Raid 2020, Air Fortress, World Grand Prix, The Last Starfighter - 3.00 each

Saturday 14 Sept:
California Games (Master System) Complete - 0.99

Sunday 15 Sept:
Freeway, Circus Atari, Night Driver - 0.99

Pretty good week for me :)

He means that your finds are not that good, but don't fret. Most of us don't care so keep it up. One day you will find a rare game and we will all hate you.

Got a complete C-64 with commodore monitor, all cables and power brick, manuals for each component, and a huge (HUUUGE!!!) floppy drive for it with a games floppy in it. Plus 3 cheapo joysticks for it. All working, all in MINT for $20CDN ($12USD) at a garage sale. I'm giving it to the bro in law, 'cause I have to draw the line somewhere, and old computers is that line. Consoles ONLY!! =)

Got a complete NES ( I already have one) with gun and the ROB robot.. COMPLETE with Gyromite, and all of the bots extra pieces, and the two spinning 'top' things, plus manuals, and a few other games, and a NES stick. I bought it for the bot, and will refurb the NES (so no blinky) and Ebay that sucker for what I paid or more.

When I started collecting, I never dreamed it would make money. I'm consistently ahead, maybe I'm not buying enough "rare" stuff from Ebay... =)

Went out today...found a thrift store without any games at all!! Not even a Combat in the 8-tracks...(although they had a lot of Billy "Crash" Craddock). All I managed to pick up was an electronic game called "Maniac" for 69 cents...I don't know if it works yet...

I had a strange haul:

PSX
Battle Arena Toshinden 2 (big box, complete)

2600
3 consoles: 2 light 6'ers, 1 woody 4-switch

Genesis:
Warsong
Sub Terrania
Light Crusader
Awesome Possum
Ferarri GP Challenge
(all with box, some manuals)

10 Genesis consoles, original and lockout models, and some model 2s.

Sidecar Sega CD system.

About 120 empty Genesis boxes, with inserts, some manuals. Lotsa good stuff, and lotsa sports. Most boxes in great condition.

All for $80

Now that I have some serious hardware fodder, time to try an S-Video Genesis mod.
